I was one of 13 ppl in our party. The dining room was absolutely dead so kitchen speed should not have been an issue. Until it was. Our orders came to the table extremely sporadically. I was the remaining person with no meal which finally arrived after 6 ppl in my party had FINISHED eating. The server made absolutely no acknowledgment or apologies for the lateness of my meal. I chose to not make it an issue in front of the 12 other ppl as we were there celebrating someone in our party & didn’t want to be negative.
We also arrived at the patio entrance (wintertime) which was a maze & poorly marked. It was dark upon leaving and poorly lit as well.

Unable to give an actual review because I've been trying to set up a table for Sunday but calling and getting a live person is impossible. Hoping a manage or owner will see this and touch base
Arrived on a Sunday late afternoon, I am not a beer drinker but after trying the Hofbräu Hefe Weize bavarian beer I am a fan now. Another recommendation would be the apple streudel dessert. My husband ordered the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. We also ordered the appetizer sampler. The cheesy sauce with the warm pretzel is tasty.
Our server was Lizzy, she did great handling our lack of knowledge to order our main dishes, and the manager was very accomodating, we ordered the Geschnetzeltes with beef strips & the Schweinshaxe or Schweinebraten, I don't recall it had gravy but for sure it was roasted pork with sauerkraut & mashed potatoes. My husband wasn't content with the Geschnetzeltes with beef strips so the manager without hesitation replaced it for chicken sausage, sauerkraut, and mashed potatoes (Bratwurst mit Sauerkraut).
I will like to return for the beer itself.

My fiancée and I visited Hofbräuhaus Buffalo yesterday, and it was hands-down one of the most authentic and enjoyable dining experiences we’ve ever had in the city.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere transported us—warm, energetic, and genuinely reminiscent of a traditional German beer hall rather than a themed restaurant. The food was exceptional across the board: expertly prepared, rich in flavor, and clearly rooted in authenticity rather than shortcuts. Every dish felt intentional and true to its origins.
The drinks were equally impressive—top-notch quality, perfectly poured, and thoughtfully curated. It’s rare to find a place where both the kitchen and the bar operate at such a consistently high level.
What truly elevated the experience, though, was the staff. They were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely enjoyable to interact with, making the entire visit feel effortless and memorable. I honestly haven’t laughed that hard, genuinely, in quite a while—and that says a lot.
Hofbräuhaus Buffalo isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience. The attention to detail, authenticity, and hospitality make it a standout destination. Easily one of the best dining experiences Buffalo has to offer. We’ll absolutely be back.

Great atmosphere but this place is really only meant to serve beer. They don’t have enough staff to get served. Got seated at 5:15, ordered at 5:30 and left at 7pm without food. Had to go to bar to order beer because waitress rarely came to table. We don’t know if the waitress never put in our order or if the kitchen messed up. We were told that our order was “next up” many many times. But it never came. People were getting served food all around us.

After hyping this place up to our family from out of town as a fun place for German beer, food and entertainment, we made reservations over the Christmas holiday. We were so extremely disappointed when we got there and found that the main dining area was closed off for a private party and we were seated upstairs where there is zero decor or atmosphere. That overflow room had as much ambiance as a hospital cafeteria. And there was no live authentic German music as advertised. Toward the end of the meal, the band that the private party hired started playing country music so loud, we had to shout at each other, so that's something i suppose. The food was okay, service was okay. We had to ask 3 times for waters but that's not a big deal because the staff was very busy. It's such a shame because we had gone once before and it was so fun. I guess if you're planning on going, roll the dice to see what kind of experience you'll get, but as for us, we won't be back. Oh yeah and it costs $20 to just park in their lot if you're going during an event at the arena.

Our server never came to wait on us. After 15 minutes, I asked at the bar and a different server helped us. She was very friendly. Food was good.

I hesitate to even give them 1 star. The place was virtually empty. We waited 1/2 hr just to get our menus. Then no one came to take our order until my D-i-l went & got someone. He was rude acting like we were bothering him. There were 5 of us he wrote nothing down. Eventually he came back with a tiny piece of paper to verify our orders. We waited a significant amount of time before we received our food. Even then my D-i-l & grandson were missing their main course receiving just the sides. Again we waited until my son went to the kitchen door & inquired about the food. Again we waited. My D-i-l asked to speak with a manager who never showed up. We saw at least 4 waitresses but no one came to our table. Save your money go elsewhere. I will never go back.
