I am hesitant to leave a review but I don’t know what happened to Hydraulic Hearth. I first went here 9-10 years ago, we were frequent customers, had a baby in 2018, 2020 changed everything for everyone, and I FINALLY made it back there tonight, and I didn’t recognize the establishment. The decor is the same, which was nice. But the atmosphere otherwise is completely different. Shockingly, customers are now expected to seat themselves, grab a menu, order at the Bar, take their drinks to their tables AND eat off small, tiny paper plates. The pizzas are still $22-$30 but the slices are larger than the plates. The staff does bus the table but are all wearing sweatpants and pajamas and have absolutely no interest in actually serving the customer. Their Italian-leaning dishes are long gone, the menu is completely bare but your bill will still run $100+, without alcohol. I can’t get over it. Maybe I was nostalgic for the pre-baby memories, and I do realize that everything had gotten more expensive and staff is hard to find but this is NOT the way. Customers should never eat on paper plates or drink from paper cups at a restaurant! And they should be greeted at the door. I hope this can be turned around. Won’t return otherwise.

Fun upscale atmosphere.
Great food.
Good drink selection.
No table service so you do have to wait in line, but despite that very good value.

This used to be our go to good time evening. The last few times we've been here, the food has been so-so. The food used to be amazing. The atmosphere outside is still amazing, but everything has gone up in price and down in quality. Their cocktails used to be kick ass. Not so much anymore. It makes me a bit sad.

We had our wedding at Hydraulic Hearth. Harry and the Hydraulic Hearth staff did an amazing job. The food was great, and they prepared plenty of it. They had two bartenders, so no guest had to wait long for a drink, and the drinks were phenomenal. The bartenders were able to make any drink requested by guests, which was much appreciated. The venue itself is amazing for a summer/late spring/early fall wedding because, in addition to a large indoor space, the outdoor space is great for cocktail hour and dinner. Harry was great to work with throughout the planning process as well.

We love this place, but the price of the beers at 9 dollars and a 25 dollar pizza that was so so, is getting to be a turn off!

The atmosphere is to DIE FOR! Not sure if it is always a self serve type of establishment but it was when we went there. You immediately start a tab at the bar which is where you order all food and drinks and it is brought out to your table. They have a water, small plates, napkin, utensil set up but they also provide the napkins and plates at the table.
As far as food goes, the Burrata pizza was incredible with the perfect crust. We also did the garlic pecorino wings which were the best that I have had in a while. They were perfectly crispy and the dry rub was just the right amount. The drinks were good but it did feel a bit pricey for a standard old fashion. 10/10 will be going here again
We had two delicious craft cocktails, split a Caesar salad (delicious, creamy. Incredible homemade croutons) a burrata pizza (the marinated tomatoes and crisped prosciutto were incredible) and the fries! (Perfectly done, salted enough, hot, and the malt vinegar aioli is incredible). Lots of seating at 7 on a Friday night. We sat down. Decided what we wanted, then ordered at the bar. We got our food incredibly quickly and it was delicious. The playlist was great and we sang along as we happy ate. Portions were large so we took home leftovers. We'll be back!
Great cocktails
Great pizza
lovely little gem, a little pricey but the quality matches the cost and the portions are generous. We could’ve split a pizza but leftovers are always appreciated 😋the fries were top notch and excellent beer selections. Food came incredibly quickly.
The hot honey and short ribs pizzas were delicious! We had bourbon BBQ wings for an appetizer - very tasty! Great atmosphere, friendly bartenders, and we loved the architecture of the brick building. We will be back! Cheers!

We visit this place almost every Saturday night for some pizza. Pizza is absolutely the best. Sat along the pizza oven area and these guys are like artists making the food. You order everything at the bar and they bring it to the table. Pizza will hit the table in about 10 minutes every time. The bartenders are top notch. Always the same crew in Saturdays. Highly recommend this place.
It was great here! I liked the counter service and the pizza/fries were amazing. The only complaint is lack of metal silverware. I hate eating with plastic.
I stopped in to taste the #1 Rated Pizza by Trip Advisor, and it was a very good pie. #1 not sure yet. 7.6 This is the start of my Cheese Pizza adventure. For me the pie was to thin. But all in all i was very pleased. I didnt have to take a antacid like most pies i taste.
Came for the cocktails, stayed for the pizza
I love their cocktails! Good atmosphere &great service! white pizza and spicy pepperoni pizza are my favorite.
