I had the worst experience there. I went sent here by my OBGYN. I was obviously very lost and I ended up on the fourth floor at the OB UNIT. the lady who asked for my name was so rude. I came out. I was by the cardiovascular department, which is a few steps from the OBGYN trying to ask for directions and the brown skin lady with no hair was so beyond rude. Ill try everything to avoid coming here again.
I love it that hospital I went to had surgery nurses and doctors always take care of me I love hospital I love surgery help me thank you for helping me feel better
We had a wonderful experience at Oishei Children’s Hospital ER this morning. Dr. Mark Kenyon took fantastic care of our daughter Mila — he was kind, thorough, and made us feel at ease during a stressful time. The entire staff, from the respiratory therapists to the nurses and reception team, were professional, compassionate, and attentive. We are so grateful for the care we received. Thank you for everything!
Staff is ok. But they lock doors at 6 and there is nothing posted stating this. Then you need to find a security guard to get a escort. Waited over a hour for a escort to come and get us to the garage they keep saying no more than 10 minutes every 10 minutes. This place sucks because of that alone.
Horrible. We don’t live here, and unfortunately had to make a ER stop because my girl got very sick, non stop coughing/gagging. She has asthma so we thought it was an asthma trigger we weren’t able to control ourselves so we brought her to be checked out and to help her be comfortable. All the one star comments you are reading here seem to be the accurate experience you’ll get at this hospital. Infinite wait time hours in the waiting area, and once you’re inside a room.. I honestly think they’re following some type of medical code and have completely lost any sense of humanity. They did zero breathing treatments on her, knowing she needed one. And after 4+ hours just to hear “she’s good, we just have to let it run its course”… granted, she tested positive for RSV. And my daughter was uncomfortable, coughing and gagging. We just had to leave. Even waiting to get discharged was close to 45 min. It’s horrible. Not an ER I’d recommend you take your child to.
Waiting for my kid to be seen takes forever. They never have space available. If I could give no stars I would.
Shout out to nurse Danielle S. She very rude to me today I would not let you care for a dog.
So my lil girl has serious digestive problems going on and we’ve been here 5 hours and not as much as a cup of water given she’s crying in pain and these people won’t help my family travel kinda a lot and other cities can get it right but buffalo our home never can. Who’s running this hospital it’s a free for all in the er they walk around and save work for the next shift and playing on the expense of CHILDREN!!!! Horrible
Great place to go if you already know what's wrong. Don't waste your time if you're actually in need of answers. Had a great experience in August with my son. The most horrible experience 10/11/24. Very disappointed with the Doctors.
ER is ridiculous sent her by pediatrician who thought the situation was emergent, came via ambulance was pushed into waiting room where we sat for 4 hours and still haven't been seen. My son had a high grade fever and that didn't matter to them . Staff was rude nurses walking outside to stand around and not do their job . This place is a joke would not come back .staff holding hands , hugging and kanoodling in the hall instead if caring for patients who are here for emergencies absolute worst place to go, making a stressful situation even worse .
Restaurantji Recommends
i don't recommend anyone to stay the night with their loved ones especially in ICU its a mental breakdown waiting to happen they don't give you enough blankets the couch is so unconfortable my back and neck hurt really bad they are tweeked bad also they act as if the dam pandemic didn't already took the whole dam harsh toll on the whole dam world we all know everyone already have or been covid exposed or positive or have been positive in the past like no one cant even get a fresh of air or a cig break or anything cant even leave even with or without symptoms!!!!!
yeah their trying to drive us crazy and insane than we already went through so much the past 1-2 years give the patients a dam fresh air or cig break atleast smfh !!!! i feel like im in jail/phycward!!! thanks for making the mental state worse
Took 4 hours when I was in “fast track” open cut in my leg, messed up my vitals, and gave me a ex ray for no reason. Was told I was supposed to get stitched at “8:10” but ended up walking out after not receiving service or assistance in over 3 hours. Applies numbing cream for no reason because it didn’t work. Absolutely ridiculous this hospital needs better staff
Emergency services are WAY too long, has very bad service. Me and my daughter has been waiting for 2 hours at the emergency room and I don’t know how much longer it will take, my daughter literally has a swollen cheek and needs to treat it!
I love the gift shop for the kids especially but they are extremely expensive. Overall the quality of their products are really good and they last quite a long while.
I gave birth to my 3rd baby here over a week ago, and I will say my experience was not the best. I will also add that 6 years ago I gave birth to my 2nd baby here and my experience was also not great that time. The nurse I had during my labor was very sweet and kind and she was always as accommodating as possible with anything I asked for. She checked on me often as she had to constantly fix the monitors on my belly. I will add that if you’re looking for an experience where the staff guides you through labor or offers any pain management other than an epidural I would seek elsewhere. They are very routine here and other than offering my the epidural I did not feel like I was being offered other options. The only reason I had access to other items was because I educated myself on my options and I had to verbally request and bring it up to the staff. (accommodated but seemed a chore) I remember at one point I asked the resident obgyn about using nitrous oxide and she just kind of looked at me funny as if this was unheard of even though they have it. I also remember the nurse that admitted me when I asked to be hooked up to the portable monitors instead of the wired ones so I could move around during labor she kind of seemed annoyed like it was again, a chore. I had a couple different resident doctors come in and try to give me cervical exams even though it really wasn’t necessary to continue doing it. I also kept having it pushed on me to break my water even though I was informed by my Doula that again I could wait my contractions weren’t that close together they just were trying to push it really fast probably to get me out of there quickly. You could also tell the resident doctor was annoyed by my Doula voicing my request for me when I couldn’t basically they just seemed annoyed that I was refusing what they wanted me to do that moment. I decided I did want the epidural last minute, but the anesthesiologist was busy in the OR and could not come even though I was screaming and begging for it partially this was my fault because I did wait too long, And by the time it was time for me to deliver my son it was too late, so I ended up going through unmedicated labor anyways. (Admittedly I am very proud of myself, but in the moment it was very stressful) You would think they would’ve had more anesthesiologist on staff. If there had been an emergency and needed to be put out right then and there. I Guess I just felt like my wishes were sort of brushed over. They really just want to do things the Way they want to do it and that’s that unless you put up a big stink about it then they will obviously because they have to but they come off very inconvenienced by it as if they don’t see it very often. With what I said earlier about the nurse being very accommodating and sweet she also did not really walk me through any of my options or help me through my pain. I understand that is not a coach, but you would think that they would offer some guidance as they see labor every day. You Sit there feeling alone and unsure unless you bring your own support people (which I thank god had my doula and my fiancé) I tend to be somebody that doesn’t want to be a bother so I will deal with things even though I should speak up for myself so having that extra knowledgeable support person such as a Doula available to help you through is definitely a recommendation especially if you’re coming here because they will try to push things on you. I will say they were very watchful after my birth as I had some extra bleeding after and had to be monitored. And there was one resident on staff who did seem really to know what she was doing and I noticed the others would consult her with things for my care before they did something. Which was reassuring. I never ever felt unsafe here. I felt they knew what they were doing in case of an emergency. That I will say.
As far as the staff such as the mother and baby nurse, the lactation staff, dietary, all very kind and knowledgeable. They also never did my baby’s footprints, or they never gave them to me.
