I used to go to Marcos on Hertel weekly and I always got the "forget about it". Something has changed here recently. The past couple times I ordered here the sandwhich was messy and didn't taste as well as they used to. Don't think I will be back.

I had the big bird. Perfectly toasted bread. Grilled chicken tenders with bacon. It was delicious. Highly recommend. Perfect amount of spice with the mayo as well. I’ve been to other locations and it has always been a place I recommend for anyone visiting my work place

Ordered three Sangwichs tonight. All the rolls were stale and definitely not the usual fresh crisp rolls that are usually offered. Different recipe, supplier? If so time to go back. Also, meat was light on all three. Not the usual quality expected from Marco's.

Like this place but they consistently refuse to pick up the phone, especially if it’s an hour or so before closing (I’m not talking 15 minutes before close, usually call at least 45 minutes before close) or during weekday lunch. This has been ongoing for years. Good place when they are willing to answer the phone to take an order, so have a backup in mind before ordering.

Nothing hits home like local food. Thanks for the chicken salad sandwich again! Everything was fresh, and it's real good on rye bread. The flavors compliment well together, I highly recommend it!

It says places closes at 7pm but they closed at 6pm on a tuesday and a guy in there told me they closed. Why waste peoples time. Especially at this location it took me like half hour to find a parking for my car. Very dissapointed!!!

I am really not the type of person to leave a bad review, so I would like to preface this by saying that I've been a loyal customer to marco's for years. I have frequently referred people to go there, and I personally go all the time. I've gone so much, in fact, that they literally had my photo on their wall. I love marcos, but there has been a catastrophic drop in quality over the past year+ that I really want to address.Today my friend and I went to marcos, where I ordered the big bird. What they gave me (pictured) was a literal abomination. One of the halves literally didn't have any chicken on it. The other half had 3 tiny pieces of soggy, half cooked, frozen chicken fingers. The whole sub was drowned in sauce leaving the bread and vegetables in a liquidy mess. I ended up taking 2 bites and tossing it out. I elected not to return the item because this sadly was not an isolated incident, and thought my efforts would be best served by writing this review. Over the past year I've been getting sandwiches of consistently poor quality, not only at the hertel location but the one on maple as well. I've held my tongue on this for so long out of respect for marcos, but it's at the point now where they really need to evaluate their practices.I'm posting this to implore the owner and management to take a hard look at the product they're allowing to be put out. I find it hard to believe that any employee can be proud of the sandwich I just got. If that's the best they can do, then it is clearly not good enough. The employees I used to encounter were friendly, warm and cared about their food. Now marcos has sadly been rendered to a state that is a shell of it's former self.It pains me to say this, but I will not be going to marcos anymore because of their fall from grace. I truly hope this message resonates with management so that improvements can be made. Please know that I am not posting this out of spite, but because I love the restaurant and want it to be back to being as great as it used to be. Sadly, it is currently nowhere near that standard.

Very disappointing. "Market Sangwiches - A Traditional New York Style Sangwich. All Market Sangwiches are served on Rye" I ordered corned beef and Swiss. Corned beef was sliced waaaaay too thick, the amount of meat and cheese was minimal. Worst of all it was on some kind of potato bread I think, not rye, and the bread was warm from the toaster, melting the mayo. After one bite I went back and asked about the rye and was told they were out. No one bothered to tell me this when I ordered. Definitely NOT WORTHY of the designation "A Traditional New York Style Sangwich." Try again: Thinly sliced corned beef and lots of it, a generous amount of Swiss, and rye bread please! We also ordered "The Hertel" - Grilled roast beef, veggies and melted Swiss. Flavor was good but very, very skimpy amount of roast beef. Rip off at $10.99. We will not be back.
