I like getting takeout from them. It will take up to an hour sometimes depending if the are busy so order early the specials 2/$35 cash only. You are guaranteed a hot meal. I usually get haddock pan fried or fried perch dinner. You get a lot of food and don’t forget to get a extra side of yams.

Took over 2 hours for the food to be ready. Was treated poorly the second I walked in the door, was standing elbow to elbow with other people waiting on their food.

food was good but i probably won’t be returning here due to the service. i went in to grab a pick up order and sat at the bar for a quick drink. the lady who gave me my pickup order was a delight! however the bartender was very unwelcoming and unpleasant. me and my boyfriend sat at the bar where we never received a greeting or even the slightest bit of acknowledgement. when my boyfriend finally managed to get the bartenders attention she looked at us as if we were inconveniencing her by trying to get a drink menu. she sat the menu down, quickly walked away and never came back. we simply got up and left since we couldn’t be serviced for some reason. very distasteful and unpleasant probably will not be returning even though the food was pretty good.

Waiting for a freaking hour for a fish fry after I got a call that my order was ready. What a mess. No one has any idea what’s going on. Every worker is literally running around like chickens with no heads. Avoid this place.

Amazing Service, Food & Drinks. We will definitely be back. We took our 3 year old with us and she was welcomed with open arms. We had the shrimp basket, Honey Cajun Wings, Garlic Parm Medium Chicken Dinner & Chicken Tenders w Fries. The bone crushers as a drink (get a DD).

The FISH DINNER and SIDES are complete garbage. GREENS ARE FRESH OUT A CAN. MAC AND CHEESE IS BASICALLY KRAFT. Total waste of money. Sad because these are original people. NEED A REAL COOK BAD!!!!

This place was so damn good..had the catfish diner...I was in town from Chicago...this place was absolutely delicious no joke and I've had some of the best soul food places!!!!! And they give you so much!!!! Wish y'all was in Chicago!!!!

My daughter and I visited on a Sunday night for dinner. It was fairly empty, with the only two tables occupied and two people sitting at the bar. We ordered dinner and waited approximately 45 minutes for our food to come. We ordered a catfish dinner and a pork chop dinner. When we received our food of the catfish and the pork chop we're both cold. The pork chops tasted like they had been refried in old grease. The catfish and the pork chop were cold, (not even room temperature), the cornbread was hard, and we didn't receive the coleslaw that we should have gotten with our order. When I inquired about the coleslaw I was told that they ran out. I wasn't offered a substitute and nothing would have been said about it if I hadn't asked about it. Overall, my experience was very unpleasant.

My second time dining in and the food was great both times. Special shout out to the bartender the mimosas were great along with the waiter Tom did a fine job as well!!!

I wanted to give a HUGE shoutout to Phat Katz…….
What a great little homelike restaurant and bar. I enjoyed a shrimp dinner. Sides included Potato Salad, Greens, Cole Slaw, Macaroni & Cheese, and a nice size piece of cornbread. The shrimps were excellent. I also had a side of blue cheese with my shrimp
I must say that EVERY SIDE was better than good and I am a good cook!!
Shout out guys…… I loved the black owned black occupied atmosphere. Our server Tom shout out also he was great. Just wanted to share my experience. If you have not gone please do they will not disappoint……….🥂🌹

So me and a friend of mine were at the bar to dine-in. As we were waiting for our food we purchase a few bone crushers ( their signature drink and not cheap) I notice our food is taking a long time. A hour had passed even our bartender was perturbed but didn't wanna say anything. I noticed that door dash orders were going out and other customers were being served. Needless to say I was very unhappy and expressed my displeasure with my friend who concurred. We decided that we should just get our food to go. I guess Warren was so mad that I voiced my displeasure that he rushed my order so that we would just leave. He did nothing to appease the situation at all. Like to wait 1 hr to be serve was ok. I don't think so. I haven't been back since. They could have at least offered to take off a portion of the bill. Pam did say it wasnt right and offered to make amends next time. But why not rectify the situation immediately. I'm here and been wronged today ! SMH

The food here is delicious and the drinks are strong. The staff could be better, I've been a few times for birthday dinners and it's clear they accept parties of people the size of the space cannot accommodate. We had a cake for a friend's birthday and we offered a slice of cake to staff that wanted it, and somehow staff took that to mean announcing to the bar anyone could come have cake. Ordering drinks at the bar also takes a long time, it always feels a bit short staffed. I would give it a lower rating bc of the staff but the food is so good I do have to keep it at a 4 star.

Parking: Small/medium size lot, under 40 cars, fills us fast with how busy the bar gets, free street parking is available

Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible, you have to go up at least 2 steps within a narrow door
