fairly overpriced for weak coffee and a burnt breakfast sandwich. Donut was tasty though.

the one star absolutely isn’t for the employees, it’s for the exploitation and under appreciation of this fantastic staff. they are always amazing. but wow is this place understaffed. I don’t know if the owner is too busy trying to open the Elmwood spot to care, but it’s insane. every time I have been here recently they all look like they’ve been through war but still manage to put a smile on their face and help me with whatever I need. if the owner here wants to keep these incredible people, which I’m sure he won’t if he doesn’t make quick changes, he needs bare minimum 1-2 more people hired because it simply isn’t fair to put the volume of business on these amazing employees. I’ve worked food service in several situations and you can’t run a cafe with this popularity with a skeleton crew and expect to have perfect quality and long lasting employees. shame on you james.

We order often from this lovely coffee shop at work. The breakfast sandwiches are amazing, great customization and options for everyone. The sweet potato breakfast with eggs is so good it makes me want to cry. Don't forget to get a donut, the lemon poppyseed is incredible.

Update: rave reviews for the chorizo pulled pork hash. The pulled pork melts in your mouthCouldn't imagine life without Public. Whether it's a quick coffee to boost my day, or a Saturday breakfast with scrabble, the team always delivers.

Service was horrible. None of the staff really seemed like they did not want to be there whatsoever. The order taker for got I ordered coffee, and I waited like 10 minutes until someone asked if I was waiting on something. To where the order taker applied and got my coffee. Coffe was decent at least.

Picked up doughnuts for the security guards and maintenance crew in my building. The folks working helped pick out the best doughnuts and were so lovely and kind!

I've just started writing reviews because the service industry in Buffalo is getting out of hand. I really feel conflicted but it's not going to get better if we don't say something.Today I drove over to the Public Espresso Seneca location and there was a note on the door saying that it's closed. No social media post. Nothing. That is the absolute bare minimum when you suddenly close a business for the day.I was already on the fence because of my next point: This Seneca st. location is always filthy. The tables are often messy even when it's slow and the floor looks like it has quite literally never been cleaned. They need to get an overnight crew to deep clean that place. I'm starting to think that having this self-service stuff at fancy cafes causes baristas to forget to wipe down the tables. What am I tipping like 30%+ on coffee orders for if I have to clean everything up too? There are some nice staff members there for sure. Although I've had many orders come out as a completely different order several times when I was the only person there. Maybe the items are listed wrong in the ordering system. The whole service industry is like that in WNY unfortunately. The food is pretty decent. It's not super consistent but the baked items are really tasty. The prices are high but that's pretty typical for third-wave coffee anyway.
