I love Buffalo Chips but quaker bonnet failed to deliver an online order I paid for almost a year ago and they never responded to my emails or phone calls. Like others have said, I'm leaving this review up until they contact me regarding my order. I think a year is plenty of time.

Beware of online ordering. My order was never sent and no one ever responded to repeated emails and phone calls. It's been a year now. This review will remain until they make good on my order.

Please update page. Visited twice during hours posted and no one at counter. Got a hold of the baker in the back and they no longer sell goods out of store, wholesale only. Smelled great though

Great homemade food. Definitely recommend for anyone.

This place is under new ownership, so you can disregard all the reviews about the mean owner. The new owner is the sweetest nuclear engineer you will ever meet. What is more exciting is the new range of vegan items on offer. For now, most vegan items need to be ordered in advance. I stopped by the shop and it's a no frills affair with a counter, shelves, and commercial freezers up front and bakery operations in the back. There are dressings, sauces, spice blends, cookies, bread, and frozen soup all on hand. The bread selection was small and not that fresh but that might be because most of their business is whole sale and advance orders. They had vegan Thanksgiving dinners for 1 or 20 and will have the same for Christmas. Lots of vegan bread and pies, including guava pie. They are also in the process of veganizing their classics like Buffalo Chips. Keep an eye on this place. It's only going to get better.

This post will remain until the business has settled things with me personally. It has been three weeks since Quaker Bonnet failed to fulfill my order. Not only am I dissatisfied I did not receive the food that was supposed to be for a Thanksgiving meal, but am also extremely disappointed I have not received any apologies, explanations or communications whatsoever after calling and emailing several times. My only remaining option is to leave a bad review. This business will forget your order, forget you and pretend they did nothing wrong. Don't order here.

I stopped by here on Small Business Saturday, during Thanksgiving. It did not look like a restaurant from the outside, and we weren't sure if it was open as it looked dark and windowless. Inside, it felt like a cluttered storeroom lined with shelves, refrigerator units, counters and a couple of tables in the middle. There was a couple at one of the tables and they looked uncomfortable and had no food or drinks in front of them. The owner/worker was wasn't very warm or welcoming. The whole energy was weird, like she wasn't sure why we were there. She didn't offer to seat us, so maybe they weren't open.. I thought there would be fresh pastries or snacks available, but it was all prepackaged sweets, a lot of which was frozen. We bought a couple of boxes of cookies and a jar of hot fudge. The cookies were pretty plain, but the hot fudge was delicious when we tried it later. Heated in the microwave it turned into a magical chewy chocolate sauce. So, worth the incredibly awkward shopping trip?

I love this place. Wonderful catering and fantastic take out. Just the right thing to drop off to a friend that is sick at home or a special holiday gift. Everything is Buffalo Made!!! the chicken or turkey pot pie is 5 gold stars!!! Liz is a wonderful community activist. She cares about the city and it shows in everything she does.

We tried to contact them about catering a wedding. The conversation started with bluntly telling us that they don't have an alcohol license and we'd have to figure that out for ourselves, but we were ok with that. We envisioned a taco bar buffet and asked what else they offer. The woman called our idea "street food" and told us to just have a taco truck show up, and didn't bother to offer us anything else. Rude. We had no problem finding another caterer who wasn't so insulting.

Don't consider for catering unless you want to be scoffed at.

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and there was only one other couple in to dine. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and explained the featured soups and salads for the day. Fritatta and quiche looked yummy, biscotti and coffee were appealing as well but chose nova salmon and cream cheese bagel. Came with gobs of cream cheese, sprouts, lettuce, and cucumber slices. Very yummy. Husband had fritatta and said it was fresh and not soggy (from the water leaching out of the veggies during reheat). Most of the tables were dressed in a cute red cloth with white polka dot motif, as a birthday was soon to be hosted there. Looked so cute- we heard the guest of honor was turning 102! We sat on the patio which made for fun people watching. Bubbles from the bubble guy drifted diwn to us from his second story corner post. Worth checking out for sure!

Good food just isn't enough. The woman who either owns or manages the establishment is very rude. I've lived in the city all my life and worked in and frequented many different restaurants and business on Elmwood and on Allen. I like a cheap fresh sandwich as much as the next person, but this woman has been annoyingly rude to me one too many times. Plus, the vegan vegetarian soup was s****

The first time I ate their food was when they catered a work function. SOOOO delicious! I've been there several times with friends. The ingredients are fresh. The staff and the location aren't pretentious. You get huge portions for a fair price. The only con is that they are open weird hours so its not like you can just hop on by whenever. Definitely give this place a try!

Wonderful sandwiches and personal service. This is a review of the Allen St location. They make a most wonderful Cuban sandwich on Portuguese Sweet Bread and it comes with roast pork, ham, swiss and a delightful honey mustard dressing. Best Cuban sandwich I have had the difference is in the bread and the honey-mustard. i also tried the roast beef the last time I was in to go. It said it was rare on the menu however when I opened it later (on a train to NYC) it was very well done and chewy. Stick to the Cuban. Also they have a most delicious cucumber soup in the summer.
