Am here waiting for a corn dog to go with my beverage. It’s been understandably busy, and with one person working to fill orders, more help is needed, and this person needs a raise. I’m not in a hurry, but, I am still waiting for my corn dog.

First the good: We bought 2 cheeseburgers and a side of fries on the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend. We walked right up to the window and ordered. They were fairly quiet in terms of customers. The food was solid - and it was ready in good time. No complaints.

Now for the … bad (more like “wth”): When I picked up the food, I asked for ketchup. “We’re out of ketchup,” she said. I expressed disbelief. She explained: “It’s the end of the season, so they’re not ordering a lot of stuff … .” I expressed more disbelief. The cook called out to me from the back of the stand — he was offering a bottle of ketchup from his stores. I gladly accepted.

After I came to our table with the food (and ketchup story), I realized that I’d forgotten to grab napkins. My wife got up to get them. Did they have napkins? They did not. “End of the season,” it was explained.

Ketchup packets have a lengthy shelf life. Napkins have an even longer one.

What the heck is going on with Resurgence Brewing as an operator at this site? My only guess is that they don’t plan to return in 2026 and have pulled the plug on giving this hot dog stand the most basic support. So odd.

In downtown Buffalo for the night for work. Walked over to canal area. Resurgence is a is a nice harbor side quick serve restaurant in downtown Buffalo. Service took a little bit which they’re only two people working, so expected.

My main complaint is I ordered a set of fries, and inquired about a container or a paper to go container to take the fries back to my hotel.

Even though they had a stack of them in the back behind the register in plain view, they said they could not give them the way except for salads 🤔🫤

Never experienced this before, but if you are to be a quick serve eatery, then there should be a basic thing your restaurant should provide.

Maybe a minor issue to some but will never go back because of that.

Fries were good though. I think this is a smaller location branched out from their main, and if so, this is just reflecting this one location.

We went to the “shack” on Canal Side. The girl seemed like we were putting her in misery by placing an order. Less than amused. Food took about 10 minutes, which is no big deal. However, the corn dog wasn’t even warmed up. Burgers were not even room temp. Fries were hot and excellent. But really it’s like they used a microwave for our food and called it good. Save your time & money… just skip it.

It took over 20 minutes to get a drink at the bar literally being ignored! With that experience I didn't bother ordering any food I had my drink and left! That experience wasn't worth the hype of going back.

We have been to the Canalside location twice, the first time was for an AVA collective pop up arts and crafts show with the added bonus of some tasty brews, the second was to try some of the food that looked and smelled so good on our previous visit. We were not disappointed. We had Fried pickles, cheese curds and Sliders which were EXCELLENT. The staff was friendly and the service was very good. Our goto spot when at Canalside!

Ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. The piece of chicken was the size of a large chicken nugget. Way over priced. Beer was yummy, but also pricey. Won’t be going back.

We went there yesterday to celebrate our friend getting engaged. To start off all the water cups where disgusting. Mine had dried up food on it, another has lip marks still on it. Our wine glass was also dirty. It wasn’t busy at all, but it took forever to get drinks. Any round of drinks. It took forever. The food was okay. The coconut shrimp was wonderful, the nachos where very disappointing. Definitely disappointed since I’ve heard such great things. Do better.
