Stayed at the Hyatt with my cousin for the Jonas Brothers concert. We decided to go to Starbucks after we checked out. I ordered a hot chocolate at 11:08 stamped on my cup. I didn’t receive my hot chocolate until 11:35. Meanwhile, two parties behind me one of which who also ordered a hot chocolate received their orders well before I did. Over the course of nearly half an hour, two of the four staff disappeared out back and the remaining workers were goofing off with each other instead of making drinks. A young woman who asked for a different lid for her cup, got her cup yanked from her hands and yelled at by one of the barista’s who appeared to be in her early to mid twenties. She was told to “maybe choose the right lid next time and this wouldn’t have happened.” I do not see myself stopping to this Starbucks in anymore Buffalo trips for me!

This is one the worst Starbucks I’ve ever been. The staff is super super rude. The town is busy as well as the hotel with the bar exam, and they decided to open one hour later, and close at 12pm, 6hours before the time that is advertised at the hotel elevators. On another point, they are rude with clients and guests that don’t speak good English, as well not making any effort to be polite or even respectful. With the NYS bar exam happening just outside the hotel, and the hotel advertising the Starbucks for early breakfast , one could think they would make an effort to attend clients. The excuse is that they are “short staffed”.

I wanted to share that my recent experience at your store was unfortunately quite unpleasant. My order was made incorrectly twice—despite clearly requesting no ice due to a chronic throat condition, ice was added both times.
To make matters worse, the second time, the drink was not only filled with ice but also less than half full, which felt extremely dismissive—especially given the price paid. On top of that, I had asked for oat milk, but it was made with whole milk instead.
I was in a rush at the time and couldn’t address it fully in the moment, but the barista’s tone—particularly the middle-aged staff member—came across as rude and dismissive, which only made the experience more disappointing.
this was far below reasonable expectations, especially considering I’ve ordered no-ice drinks at Starbucks multiple times before without an issue.
Nice and cozy place for hanging coffee

They have a different oatmilk, its practically curdled. They never get my order right when taking my order. Either wrong size or a completely wrong drink. I once ordered a brown sugar oatmilk latte and instead got a cortada. The lady got upset and insisted I ordered a cortada. First of all I dont even know what that is. 2nd of all, how does that even sound remotely close to what I ordered? Today was the last straw. Oatmilk was grey and looked curdled. They dont use starbucks normal oatmilk. Changed to just milk and they gave me the wrong drink again. Got it a third time and it just didnt taste as good but probably bc I got regular milk. Just all in all this will be my last time going there. You would think being so high volume since its in fountain plaza in a hotel they would have it together but ive never once gotten my order right here. For the price you pay you should get quality beverages.

Mixed experience — amazing start, but inconsistent service since
Staying in town for work and was excited to see a Starbucks inside the Hyatt Regency. I wish I knew this barista’s name (I promise to come back and edit this review if I catch her again before the weekend is up), because she was absolutely amazing — and that’s coming from a former Starbucks barista myself. She gave me a new drink recommendation that was absolutely delectable and helped kick off my weekend in the best way after a long day of traveling. Seriously, she set the bar.
Unfortunately… that bar hasn’t been met since.
The next day, I ordered the same drink I always do — one I’ve had countless times at other Starbucks — and it had a funky, sour taste. At first, I thought maybe it was just me, but I had someone else try it, and they agreed something was off. I returned to kindly explain what happened (not mad, just wanted a remake), and the barista immediately got defensive: “What do you mean?” Four other staff members jumped in to reassure me the milk and syrup weren’t expired — okay, noted — but I wasn't trying to argue ingredients. I just wanted a drink I could actually drink. Thankfully, one finally said they’d remake it, which I appreciated… but even the second one tasted spoiled. I didn’t take it back again — I just tossed it.
Then this morning I placed a mobile order (avoiding white mocha, lesson learned). It took THIRTY MINUTES for my drink to come up. A teammate of mine waited FORTY-FIVE MINUTES for hers. As someone who used to work the bar, I can say with confidence that’s beyond a normal delay — even during peak times. There were plenty of staff behind the counter and not enough orders to explain the backup. Maybe they’re still training or short on experience, but during a morning rush, you’ve got to have a balance of seasoned team members to keep things flowing. From what I saw, the pace was just unusually slow.
On the bright side — my drink today was at least drinkable.
All in all, great potential here. Some staff are shining stars (again, shout out to the mystery barista from Friday!). I just hope management can work on consistency, communication, and speed — because the demand is clearly there, and the location is prime.
The two young ladies working there were fantastic on Friday, the 27th of June. Starbucks need to hire another person or two; it was too much work for two people but they handled it like rockstars.

Cashier was a sweet heart. Now when it came to my drink and me telling the other girl hey Hun sorry no whip cream can you scrape it off she got nasty. Ripped the drink out of my hands and dumped it in the sink. I have never met such an unprofessional rude ignorant person in my life. I pay and TIP everytime I go there. I will no longer deal with them they have lost me as a customer.

This has to be the best Starbucks I ever been too. The staff goes the extra mile to make sure my drinks are correct and also always make my disabled child feel special and patient with him. Even when they’re busy !

The rudest poorest Starbucks service I have ever had. The girl working AM June 6 was so rude for no reason other than a European accent I cancelled an order.

What’s with the employees constantly standing in the back long enough where it has caused a stir between multiple customers? I have come in here multiple times because it is close to my job and nearly every time someone is in the back, and the last time I called for someone they had extreme attitude. I’ll gladly walk the extra 2 blocks to the location on Chippewa.
