The dapper goose was clean, uncluttered, open and had candles on every table including on the bar. it gave the dining area a nice glow. The food was excellent and I was told they make everything in house. I came about that information because I do not like commercial whipped cream. She said. Don't worry, it's not, and it was not. It was yummy. It is expensive. My portions, we're medium. For oysters, I had 3 oysters with with resoto I have never tasted oysters like that. They're consistency was like pudding. But they still taste like oysters. I could cut them with my fork and they were in fact delicious. The bread pudding was unique.I was one of the first people in the restaurant .As I sat there the clientele started filing in. I thoughtOh, this is a woman's restaurant then. I thought oh this is a couple's restaurant. Then I thought oh, those 2 men have come in alsoThey had a wonderful mix of people. The bartender was particularly helpful about giving me information about the restaurant, the amount of time its been in the area 9 years we discovered that we both liked steak tartar. It is not often offered But as I remember it was done very well with a Pasteurized eggThe only thing that distracted me was the dress of the staff everyone was dressed in jeans. It seemed a little incongruent with price, atmosphere and presentation. If that doesn't bother you Go For It!! YUMPs iam disabled staff were very helpful with opening and holding the door. ^

Brought here by my children for my birthday. The wait staff is very attentive. We are upstairs and it was very clean with spacing between tables pretty broad. The cocktails and food are nicely presented with glasses, plates and bowls sized for the amenity. Well thought out and creative menu choices.

Went for a girls night dinner and it was amazing! Such a cute vibe there! Our server was super sweet and attentive! The burger was incredible and the olive oil cake was perfection! I already can’t wait to go back for my next visit!

Friends, Let me start this by saying - I rarely give a poor review on service or food. I was a server/bartender for many years so I know anyone can have an off night. Kitchens can be slow, food over salted, etc. But holy moly - this was not the case at all. I am in from out of town - wanted to take my family for a good meal- we love to try new things and I was really looking forward to the Dapper Goose. I made reservations a week ago - and even called to change them (the man I spoke with was super accommodating and sweet). Between online and verbal reviews I thought we would hit this out of the park. But nope total disappointment from the beginning. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! We were "welcomed" by a lackluster greeter. Seriously- - I think she may have gotten a F on a paper or something - she was that morose. The table setting were minimal -the atmosphere was very cool worth tin ceilings and wood floors. We waited several minutes before greeted by our server who was chatting up the table next to us. While pleasant to those folks when it came to us she acted like she was doing us a favor and we were interrupting her. I would give you her name but she did not provide it to us. I order a drink (the Paperback maker(?)), cheese plate and octopus. After about 10 minutes a woman dropped my drink which I know say there bc I watched the bartender make it and the server was to busy polishing silverware to drop it - the ice was melted (NOT THE BARTENDER's FAULT) - the drink as good but diluted. The owner dropped our octopus and another server dropped our food - server still polishing. She never checked with us on how things were going. In fact it seemed like she was doing her best to ignore us. After a while she took our order - and huffed away when done. Never thanking us or smiling just acting like we were dirt under her shoes. Another woman came cleared plates and silverware-when the server FINALLY came over to "clean" the table she swept crumbs on my Mom's lap! SERIOUSLY????? Our food came - to gnocchi dinners, scallops, and a burger. Toward the end our server did come to ask how our food was (scallops were a bit salty but everything else was good). I ordered another drink - again another person dropped it and it was again diluted- (I watched the bartender make it). The server came back when we were done - a bit more chipper asking for dessert - (end of meal check is coming let's be nice). We declined bc I had enough. The bill came and it was not super expensive- believe me I have run up bigger bar tabs-. When she dropped it I immediately put my card down and a few minutes later she came back. Chipper to get rid of us! As I said I have done this job - I know how hard it is - and we weren't rude nor disrespectful to this woman. I feel like she sized us up and was not happy getting us - why I don't know. I usually leave anywhere from 25-40% tip- I left 18% and that was only because I know she probably tips out the bartender and runners. They deserve that tip! After we got up - I stopped the owner and told him how great our food was but how poorly I felt we were treated by our server - and this is when I got the clue - the owner did not even care. He was dismissive and just as rude - So my friends - I live outside of Buffalo now - I won't be surprised when we come back to town this place is closed. No matter how good the food and drinks are of the service is not good - you may as well close the doors. I can over look a lot - but not bad service from a place with mediocre food at best.

Chill upscale restaurant. Food is excellent. Staff is even better. Cocktails (well, at least the one I had) was ethereal. Sat at the bar and had a great time chatting with the bartender. Highlight of my trip to Buffalo.

we had a really a weird server she made us feel unwelcome and annoying, forgot orders and sides, when you pay $16 for cauliflower you kinda think you’ll get good service, that did NOT happen; but food was pretty good and nice atmosphere. but like honestly, she absolutely would have ruined our meal if we didn’t make it a joke.

This was our first real meal out in Buffalo and it was wonderful. Keith made our time so relaxed and enjoyable. He was so friendly and chatted with us about us being new to the area from Maine. We had plenty of time to enjoy and savor our food and didn’t feel rushed. The food and drinks were excellent and we will be sure to return in the near future. Great atmosphere and great food quality.

The Chef has Magic in his hands!!!!!!!!!We went on a Tuesday but with only 2 more tables occupied, we could cherish the peace and quiet of the beautiful restaurant vibe at ease. The restaurant staff is very warm/ friendly/ organic and very pleasant to interact with. We ordered 3 cocktails in a reverse order of the drinks in the menu starting with The Cute for what ails you, Our circus days are over & Broken garden tools. They were all MIND BLOWING. Beautifully balanced and mixed, really delightful. We ordered the Ricotta toast & the Roasted turnips for small plates-both extremely flavorful and light. Then for our large plate we ordered the Burger & The Scallops. I lost my mind when I tasted the scallops & the risotto . It blew my mind, it was so delicious. I’ve never eaten such a great scallop dish ever!!! The burger was wonderful too but felt a bit heavy. For dessert we ordered the Bread pudding. That blew my mind a third time in a row. I’m so happy I had dinner at such a great restaurant. Best wishes to them and thank you for an Unforgettable evening.Vegetarian options: They have great vegetarian options as well!!!!Parking: It had snowed and it wasn’t shoveled so was really slushy/ bad ice, you name it and so bad ,to walk to the restaurant.

I love the Dapper Goose!!! Whether it’s a special occasion, snacks and cocktails with a pal, or an after work burger and beer, they knock it out of the park. Clayton’s wine recs (and descriptions) are spot on, and there’s always something new and fun to drink! Green Beans are canon, but you can’t go wrong with any veg or any small plates really! Everyone on the staff is so friendly and attentive, and how awesome to see owners working on the floor on a regular basis! Black Rock is lucky to have The Dapper Goose
