My husband and I are in town for a wedding. We just happen to walk by Trattoria Aroma. Decided to try it for lunch. Jeanne is very friendly and helpful. The food is wonderful. A typical Italian menu, with a very calming and welcoming atmosphere.
Recognized as one of the best food quality experiences in WNY for decades, but something has clearly changed. The meal was average. Chicken dish with greens used to be 2 large pieces of breast. The absolute favorite for my wife. Now one small breast meat and not as good. 2 thumbs down from wife. Rack of lamb used to be served on risotto. Now a couple roasted potatoes. The bread is almost not eatable. Dry with no flavor. Waitress was a sour puss. Came to the table and didn't take drink order. Then came back and took drink order. She came for dinner selections and we asked her if there were any dinner specials. There were and she never gave them to us. Odd.
What a disappointing experience. We frequent Trattoria Aroma Williamsville on a regular basis. We went last evening for an impromptu celebration. The service was SLOW. The bread was STALE. The caesar salad was tasteless. My meal (Pappardelle Del Piemonte) was TERRIBLE. I have had it many times in the past and have always enjoyed it. The preparation last night was nothing like it had been previously - it was pasta in a flavorless broth with mushrooms and spinach. My husband ordered spaghetti and meatball, which was lackluster. I had two bites of my meal. He ate 1/3 of his. We ordered wine and each glass had less than five ounces. We were not able to get our waitress because she was running around like a chicken with its head cut off. We could not even get her to bring our check - she said that was the hostess' responsibility. We asked the hostess for the check - she said we had to get it from the waitress. We told her about our meal and she said that she is only the hostess. She got the waitress for us, who stopped by hurriedly - I told her of our opinion of the meal. She said she was sorry, but they lost a chef and wait staff during the week. No mention of any accommodation on the check. We will NOT return. Such a shame.
There was NOTHING right about our dining last night. Been there many times before. but yesterday there was NO ONE who knew what they were doing. It took 25 minutes before a waitress came to our table. It took an HOUR to get our food.... All cooked poorly: underdone pork chop with burned potatoes. Cold lasagna salad swimming in dressing. Veal cooked until it was shoe leather. The manager was very apologetic. Only charged us for our drinks. Don't know that I'll ever return
If I could give it zero stars I would. The food was disgusting. I can't recall a worse meal I've ever had. Service was extremely slow and the owner/manager was yelling at the staff. Pasta “carbonara” was scrambled eggs in pasta. Meatballs were hard as rocks. Bread was borderline stale. Atrocious! The Olive Garden would be considered fine dining compared to this place.
Order Spaghetti Carbonara.... The dish that came out and it was basically Spaghetti with scrambled eggs, peas and pasta water. For an authentic italian restaurant, if you are going to put carbonara on the menu, I think at least you should know how to make it. Every dish the table ordered lacked salt. Only good thing was the wood fire pizza that the table shared.
We were warmly welcomed and everything was perfect! Great food, service and atmosphere! Highly recommend!
Service was good, atmosphere is okay, for quality was just okay. It is doubtful that I would return.
Our party was told upon arrival there was no chef. The owner was rude to our party upon arrival. They had no chicken so could not serve anything with chicken. There were not enough menus (paper ones) so we had to share. It took over 20 mins after we sat down to order a drink and then 10 mins after that to receive them. The food was not worth what we paid at all. Would not go back or recommend. I understand there are bad nights, it would have been easier to tolerate if they were at least kind or apologetic.
We loved it here! Don't listen to those other reviews. They've had some changes but Raffael has figured it out. Everything here was top notch. Got to meet a lot of the staff when we came a little early for drinks. Raffael himself went across the street to get me some more Captain when they ran out! Everyone here is super nice, efficient, and we all loved our meal. Service was quick and we felt right at home. We will definitely return when we are back in town. It's like the Nonnas themselves made our meal. Can't wait to come back. Thanks Raffael!

This was our first trip to Trattoria Aroma and unfortunately it will be out last. My wife ordered an Old Fashioned that just didn't taste right. Our daughter ordered spaghetti and meatballs and the meatbLls were so hard you couldn't cut them with a knife. It was as if they had been microwaved too long. They agreed to bring us two new meatballs and they arrived when we were finished. To top it off, I ordered broiled Tuscan Cod. It didn't arrive until the other three all had finished their meals. The waitress was apologetic but it wasn't her fault. We had expected some credit on our bill but they gave us nothing. The owner apologized too but wasn't willing to offer any credit. The bill for 4 meals with tip was close to $200. I hardly expected to get microwaved meatballs for that price and one of our other daughters only got pizza. This establishment was way overpriced for the quality of food we received. The service was great but the food was only fair at best. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Menu variety including seafood and meat was excellent. Food was terrific. Cocktails were terrific. Service by Lisa was excellent. Owner Reemo checked in with us twice.
While overall our experience was good we did have issues with drinks served. It appeared the bartender may have been knew and not familiar with mixed drinks.
The dining experience was delightful- delicious food and excellent service. I do strongly object to leaving a credit card when making a reservation in case of cancellation- I almost did not make the reservation for that reason. And truthfully it is not like it was a busy weekend- there were only 2 other occupied tables during our entire time there. I would not do that again. I'll either take my chances or go somewhere else - there are too many good restaurants in the area to choose that do not require that.
The food was delicious the staff were very nice and accommodating. Our waitress was not sure about the menu items, myself and my husband had to correct her twice about our kids drinks and our food. Overall the experience was nice and I would go back and recommend to others.
