Had steak sandwiches. Extremely salty. Bread tasted stale. Server came by maybe once after we got the food to get boxes.Found out on receiving the bill there is a 20 percent auto gratuity that we called the manager to remove, as service was not great. Server knew we were in a rush, took the bill with the auto grat removed, gave attitude and came back with a new receipt with the auto grat added again. Because we were in a rush and it was hard enough to get a server with a machine we ended up settling for the auto grat. ( we were going to tip 20 percent anyway). Left a bad taste in my mouth, literally and figuratively. Also saw a sandwich sit under lamp for 30 minutes before being served….

Great location and choice to go to before or after an event downtown. The food and drinks were very good. It’s nice to have the option to explore the rest of the building too!

Vice has nice decor and my old fashioned was good but the service made me write my first yelp review. I've been working in a a restaurant for 8 years and I've never heard of auto gratuity on a 2 person table. Our server was incredibly slow to bring drinks as well as food and was not attentive at all. The food was fine but nothing to write home about. There was one other table in the place and it took 35 mins for 2 sandwiches to come out. Food was alright and it could be a great spot for whisky but with atrocious service and included gratuity I don't see myself returning.

This is just my personal experience and my experience alone. I am sort of a foodie/ restaurant snob who has eaten all over the world. To me this place doesn't know what it wants to be and it shows. Are you a high end bar? A bocce club? A restaurant? A fancy bar with fancier bar food? Either way to me what they are doing is not going well. Maybe I had the wrong perspective of this place before i entered or maybe it was how I perceived the place from the exterior but from the greeting to the staff to the food ,it was a let down. Again maybe I was just expecting too much out of my visit. Most likely i was expecting more for the price. At a certain price point i expect I anticipate a level of professionalism by the staff. Maybe they were new of maybe they didn't receive the training they needed. As for the food I there were many Greta sounding choices but the steakhouse burger stood out to me for that choice of the evening. I haven't had a great burger in quite some time and that night seemed like the night to do so. For me when I see steakhouse burger I always expecting a thick, juicer burger cooked to perfection ! What I received was what it seemed to be two thin frozen patties placed in a roll that definitely didn't need two hands to hold. Along with that came a side of frozen French fries . I mean it does not take much to cut a real potato and fry it. It is also not like the staff was busy pressing fresh meat into a lovely patty. Again this was just my experience and hopefully others have not had the same experience as I did.
