I visit Buffalo a couple times a year and always buy some sponge candy when I'm there. I seem to visit a different store location every time but the past few times I've visited, I've been disappointed with the quality.
I have found that 15-20% of the box I'm buying has pieces where the honeycomb center is very chewy or has shriveled up. For the price, every piece should high quality. There are no expiration dates on the boxes and perhaps the orange type I get does not turnover as fast as other product, but I no longer what to spend the money on these when this problem is persisting.
Do the bags preserve the product better than the boxes?

Drew was the absolute sweetest and after 10 minutes, not only did we leave with delicious chocolate, we had multiple recommendations for local restaurants and must-do activities. The Orange sponge candy was my favorite, but all the chocolates are superb. I had many questions but Drew answered them all with her knowledge about the process and products.
Visiting this place early in our trip was the right move, and we got to enjoy the chocolates for the next few days.
We had the best time in Buffalo because of the great people we met, including Drew!

Watson’s Chocolate is a must stop for me in Buffalo. Their sponge candy is my absolute favorite and I always make the drive down from Ontario to pick some up. The shop is relatively close to the border which makes it super convenient. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. Highly recommend if you are visiting Buffalo or just passing through.

The sponge candy here is very good. I like how every place has a different variation. This place is heavier on the sponge, with a thin layer of chocolate coating it. I also like that you can get a mixture of chocolate types per box.
Bonus points for also being pet-friendly. A huge plus in my book. The staff was nice enough to even give my doggo a treat.

We came to Buffalo just for my husband to get sponge candy and Watson's chocolates did not disappoint! They were so tasty. We tried, and bought, all three flavors, milk, dark and orange. They were so good! I wish I could remember her name but the girl working that day was so kind and helpful.

Most incredible staff. There were two staff members who we interacted with. We only caught the name of Drew, but both were so nice. We were from out of town with a toddler and both of the staff members were so friendly and so kind. Drew was unbelievably nice to our daughter while she helped us make some choices of what to get.

Experience rich chocolate and crunchy sponge candy in every bite. I LOVE Watsons! It reminds me of my time spent living in Buffalo, New York. I had some breakage in my shipment recently and they graciously offered to replace the product even though I admitted to eating the crumbles over ice cream. A class act company.
