Really good spot for Chinese food. Quickly becoming a go to.

I went in to pick up their well-known chicken potato dish for takeout. The food itself was fine, but I was in a bit of a rush and unfortunately didn’t leave a tip. Later that month, when I was reviewing my credit card statement, I noticed that I had been charged more than the actual bill. It became clear that someone at the restaurant had taken it upon themselves to add a tip or increase the total without my consent.

This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable. Tampering with a customer’s payment is not only unethical, it’s potentially illegal. I did not authorize any additional charge, and there is no excuse for altering the bill after the fact. Trust is a big part of customer service, and unfortunately, that trust has been broken.

I won’t be returning, and I strongly encourage others to double-check their receipts and monitor their credit card statements carefully if they choose to dine or order from here. It’s a shame because the food had potential, but dishonest practices like this are simply not something I’m willing to overlook. Be careful.

Just outstanding. Tasty, piquant (IT SPICY), fast, friendly, lots of food. I recommend it to everyone

It is one of my favorite these days.
Pro:
1. It is very cheap, I mean averagely you only spend $20 or even less for one dish. And good portion.
2. It is a classic Chinese flavor, not too spicy, not overly sweet. Just good.
Cons:
1. It is quite small. You may need to wait long if you come at rush hour.
2. Not many choices, I order like 15 dishes one time and that's basically everything they have

Cheap, good taste, and really warm service. I have to say I don't usually pay extra tips. But this is an exception. I hope they have good business.

Xi'an cuisine, and more broadly, Northwestern Chinese food, has been gaining popularity in cities like New York and Buffalo. These dishes often feature dry peppers, herbs, and spices in beef and lamb preparations, offering bold, earthy flavors that are satisfying and multi-layered.

One standout dish is the Big Plate Chicken (大盘鸡), originally from Xinjiang, which was created to satisfy hungry travelers after long journeys. Xi'an Gourmet has done an excellent job with this dish, presenting marinated chicken, stewed potatoes, and wide, hand-pulled noodles (belt noodles), all soaked in a rich, flavorful sauce that combines savory and spicy elements perfectly.

For those who are not familiar with any Chinese cuisine, this snug little diner provides authentic northwestern Chinese food (and some American Chinese food for people who play it safe), such as Da Pan Ji (chicken served in a big plate, Xinjiang cuisine), pork burger (no green pepper no cilantro just pork, Shaanxi), and Sao Zi noodles (topping should be stir fried with rice vinegar, also from Shaanxi). Owner is super friendly; she didn’t only find me a seat but also passed me their vinegar and homemade chili paste. Would be a super authentic and unusual experience for you, if you never have northwestern Chinese food before.

For those who know their way around northwestern Chinese food or are originally from the area (especially Shaanxi), this place cures your nostalgic homesickness! The chili paste is SO PROPERLY GOOD!

the dish was watery and tasteless. No salt, no pepper, no garlic, nothing. Even the "fried" dumplings were tasteless. The portion sizes are generous, but I could get a better deal on cardboard at staples, instead of ordering a plate-ful of it here!

Overall, it’s good and the price is suitable. I come here two or three times a month. I gave it four stars only because as a Chinese, I have higher requirements on chinese food. It’s not perfect but I still recommend it.

I like Double cooked pork and broiled beef in red chili broth. Chinese burger with pork is also good, but I don’t recommend with beef.

Overall, it's good and the price is right. I come here two or three times a month. I gave it four stars because as a Chinese, I have a very demanding taste, but it's still highly recommended. I prefer to order twice-cooked pork and boiled beef and pork. The steamed buns are also good, but I don’t recommend ordering the beef ones.

My boyfriend and I come here all the time and are never disappointed. My favorite is the sliced beef noodle soup with a warm comforting broth and large potion size. This is my favorite soup. The service is typically quick
