Catharine Valley Winery offers a welcoming atmosphere and stunning views of Seneca Lake. Located just outside Watkins Glen on the east side of the lake, the winery provides a relaxing environment with a lovely patio overlooking the water. Visitors can enjoy mini flights for $12, which offer a taste of several wines, including sweeter whites like riesling, Lost Irishman, Seneca Steamer, and Viva (sparkling). The friendly staff and owners make guests feel comfortable and welcome, even accommodating families with young children and dogs, especially on rainy days. The scenic view of the lake and the cool breeze from the water enhance the peaceful ambiance. While the bathroom could use an update, the overall experience remains enjoyable. Guests often purchase bottles of wine and cider, with prices around $19. Though it may not be the fanciest Finger Lakes winery, Catharine Valley Winery is a charming spot to unwind, sample excellent wines and ciders, and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
