First of all, the hours are so strange. 11AM to 4PM at a vacation resort? The only explanation is that they want to avoid people coming in to learn the truth. They have a little grocery section where you can buy bread, potato chips, milk, eggs, and ice cream (nothing else). But the horror begins when you approach the counter. As a disclosure, I am a New Yorker (meaning from the boroughs) so I know what bad pizza looks like before stepping into the establishment. So, I did not order any pizza. I was hungry and wanted something quick and saw a calzone behind the glass. Everything there looked like it was at least a few days old but how could anyone mess up a calzone? When I asked "what kinda calzones you got?" I received a slight laugh as the worker said "just a regular calzone" as if I was silly to expect them to have variety. Silly I was but regular was an overstatement. The calzone was heated up so that the crust was perfectly warm but the cheese was still cold. It was sliced in half but not all the way through so I could observe the way the crust ripped in only a way stale crust does. To my dismay, what I saw was more akin to an hollowed loaf of bread stuffed with expired parmesan cheese. The first bite immediately informed me that this was the worst calzone I've ever had.I hate wasting money and I hate wasting food. I am also trying to gain weight. However, I could not finish half of it. I am amazed I finished half to begin with.I believed the most overpriced calzone I ever had was from the Upper East Side. It was about $7.50 for a cheese calzone with marinara sauce on the side. However, it was so cheesy and actually edible. It was not bad. The worst calzone I ever ate? $9.00. Italian? Probably from New Jersey. If you are staying at the Villa Roma resort, just go to the cafe in the main building's lobby. The food there is okay but at least you won't be throwing half of it out because of how bad it is.I miss The Bronx.

The fish and chips were greasy and overcooked and the salad meal was more like a side dish and they put in a lot of stems instead of the leaves of lettuce. Will not be going there again.

We were going to order pizza but after checking the menu we decided to take out sandwiches. What we were given seemed to be a something different. It wasn't good. Luckily we ordered ice cream pops for dessert.
