From the moment I walked into Canteen Coffee, everyone was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and genuinely fun to be around. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting—the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable and want to stay awhile.
The coffee was excellent! The service was quick and efficient. One of my favorite details was the vintage cooler stocked with cream for your coffee. Such a charming touch! I was honestly a little jealous that I don't have one in my own house. It's those thoughtful details that make a place memorable.
I only wish I could have stayed longer! I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Cambridge. If you're looking for great coffee, a welcoming environment, and a unique local experience for you and your family, Canteen Coffee is absolutely worth the stop!!!

An absolute gem, not just for Cambridge, but for the whole surrounding area. I drive 20 minutes to come here. Great coffee, a delicious, inventive menu. Comfortable and inviting and the owner and staff are terrific. Add in the bonus of one of the best independent bookstores you'll ever go into just a few doors away where you can buy a book or magazine to read while enjoying your latte and meal. Sublime.

So happy to have made this stop in Cambridge! ✨ highly recommend dear coffee lovers ✨ such a cozy & warm atmosphere & ambience ✨rustic feel and yet so dreamy, with a Children’s play area, cute bathroom with all the essentials. there’s also a chalkboard to doodle and make you smile 😊 ✨ family & local spot, especially from my observation ✨ staff were incredible, attentive, kind & informative -they had lavender cacao, and I asked if they can make me a mocha instead with that, and without hesitation it was delivered. So incredibly delicious! -it was so good , my partner got me another one on our road way back to queens, NY. -my partner loved his chai toffee -They also have fresh tulips 🌷 I was gifted a beautiful set from my partner 💐 ✨Definitely recommend very good coffee ☕️ ✨ the food looked f great as well but we weren’t hungry, definitely will want to try if we’re ever in the area

Canteen is such a lovely addition to Cambridge! The food and drinks are fresh, creative and delicious. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the vibe/aesthetic is charming, unique, warm and comforting. The owner, Casey, has put so much love, talent and creativity into this space and it really shows! She has built such a cool space, that is more than a coffee shop, but really a community centered spot to gather, visit, learn and dine. I love the pistachio latte, the smores latte, soup or the avocado or beet toast! And I highly recommend the baked goods! I can never resist one of their sweet treats.

The amazing employees have perfected the perfect lattes, delicious baked goods and the soups are always a hit.

This is our go to for a great breakfast/brunch/snack/coffee since we moved up here. We were fortunate enough to get to know Casey at the Cambridge Farmer’s Market before she opened Canteen, and every time we pop in we are treated like family. The food is delicious, the coffees are fabulous, the atmosphere is inviting and relaxing, and we always get to spend a little time with Casey catching up on life. She’s done an amazing job, we’re grateful to know her, and I encourage anyone in the area to stop by and get a taste of great local homemade food and treats, excellent coffees, and great conversation. Very cute place, but odd hours and level of service. We went in an around 9:40am on a Sunday. When arriving we waited in line and the barista said “I’ll be right with you” as she was serving other customers in front of us. She gave the people in front of us their order then disappeared into the back. Another woman came out and informed us that “They were not taking orders until 10am, but those other people were their friends, so they could get a coffee.” Just a very strange interaction that would have been better handled by just pouring three cups of coffee and taking payment. Realizing that did not open to 10am at that time, just seems late hours for a coffee shop.

I’ve been here a couple of times and really wanted to like it, but after this last visit I don’t think I’ll be back. I ordered a pistachio latte and a toasted bagel with cream cheese to go. About ten minutes after paying (and tipping), I was told they were out of pistachio. Since it was pricey, I asked for a refund. Then I waited another twenty minutes-thirty minutes total-for my bagel. When it was finally handed to me, the staff apologized, saying they hadn’t realized it was ready. By the time I got to my car, the bagel was cold.
