The Horse and Sulky is a local pub. The food is really good and the service people are really nice. Thursdays are burgers and beer night with karaoke. Fun atmosphere, but do not get confused , it is not a fancy place, just a local hangout.

Parking: On very busy nights, St. Patrick's Day, it gets packed and it is located on a busy street, be careful.

I finally stopped in and grabbed lunch after having commuted past this place for months. Their chicken salad sandwich is quite good.

Drove up from Clayton, NC. We were 3 generations in our car. We all enjoyed the food and cold beer and service! We will return in Dec. 24.

Kid-friendliness: Our granddaughters 10 and 11 really enjoyed the feel of still being in the south!! They ate everything.

I wanted to like this restaurant. After some disappointing local experiences with prime rib, we saw prime rib on the menu here and thought we would give it a try. I ordered the New England Clam Chowder and felt it was one of the best I ever had. Chock full of ingredients with unusually large pieces of clams. The salad was OK, nothing special. Then came the prime rib. A generous sized piece that appeared to be done perfectly according to my request. My friend also got the PR, and was given a good sized end cut which he requested. But then, what a letdown. Both of our servings were among the toughest we've ever encountered. It hurt my teeth to chew. (My teeth are perfectly healthy, lol.) A real disappointment. I should mention, however that our waitress, Sarah was top notch.I doubt we'll be back. Still searching for that perfect prime rib, like those young guys looking for the perfect wave in that surfing movie years ago.Overall Grade C+

Good Ole country place atmosp. I've eaten here at least five times in past year. If you're going on a Friday and want the prime rib You have to Reserve The rib At least a day in advance So they know how many to cook. Very good. Perfectly COOKED. The chicken sandwich was stellar. French onion soup was great! Appetizers- trifecto bland; onion rings-big n crispy, good ; BUT my once favorite potato skins were tiny, shriveled, and dry w a bit of cheddar on top.Oh, be careful of the floor in front of the ladies room, it's sunken in.
