Outstanding! We came to Il Posto on a Monday night and it was our first time here. They are one of the few places open on a Monday and I’m so glad we found this spot. The atmosphere is cozy. The service was friendly and attentive from the minute we came in. It was a short wait for a table. The food was delicious. We shared the beet and caesar salads, then had the chicken Milanese and zuppa di pesce, which were recommended by our fantastic server, Wendy. Both dishes were excellent—well prepared, fresh seafood and cozy food on this wintery night.
We loved our experience and can’t wait to come back. A gem of a restaurant in canandaigua. We highly recommend it!

This is the kind of restaurant you dream of finding. Small but cozy. Refined but not stodgy. Quiet but not empty. Each bite of food was satisfying to the eye and delivered on the flavor. The food was prepared with such care and the service was so friendly and helpful. The only draw back is that we live so far away from it. My wife and I wished we tried everything on the menu!

Our experience here was amazing. The homemade ricotta was the best I've ever had. The atmosphere was unlike another establishment in Canandaigua. Patrick made an awesome espresso martini and dessert was magnificent. We will definitely be back.

Delicious food and great service! My favorite dish was the Carbonara with bucatini pasta. It was sooo good. I could have eaten that whole plate of pasta by myself, but it was also good to share with my dinner partner. She ordered the Steak and Fries. The dish came with two separate pieces of steak, which were perfect for us to share. We ordered the steak medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. The steak was tender and juicy, but not bloody. The side of Rapini, the Braised Octopus, and my Lavender Citrus mocktail were also delicious and rounded out the meal well. I really don't think you can go wrong with anything you order here. Highly recommend!

We tried this restaurant for the first time with another couple. We all had great meals...Chicken Milanese, Steak & Fries, Gnocchi. Focaccia Bread was delicious. I thought the prices were on the high side considering the portion size and being a la carte. The bartenders...KayLee and Peter were delightful and very sociable. Sara our server was friendly and efficient. Definitely worth a try.

An exceptional experience. The fresh in house ricotta with roasted garlic and grilled crusty bread is out of this world. I had gnocchi in a white wine ragu with braised beef. It was excellent. The chef is also making what is arguably the best real carbonara in the ROC. Portion size and quality is on point for the price. Drinks are well poured, they have a large wine list, and their by the glass offerings are varied and well priced. This is a beautiful little place making top notch food the right way. Go now.
