I am impressed with this Ben's in Carle Place. It's organized, and the workers are pleasant and efficient. We are always in a hurry when we go there, and they take the order and make it up and get us out quickly. It's a pleasure to shop there. I'd give it 5 stars, but it is pricey.

I was visiting Barnes & Noble and figured I'd visit Ben's. My one and only visit was over 20 years ago. I ordered extra lean pastrami and a diet Dr. Brown. It came with pickles and coleslaw. I must say, that was/is the best coleslaw I've ever had. I usually don't indulge because coleslaw is typically oversaturated with mayonnaise, but this was perfect. I ate the whole thing. Pickles were good. Now, for the pastrami, it was exceptionally dry and hard to swallow. This is more deli type pastrami as opposed to what you get at a place like Katz in the city. I can't complain. My pastrami was served within minutes after I was given the slaw and pickles. I was in-and-out within 20 minutes. I'll definitely come back and try other options.

This review is regarding delivery from Uber Eats today . The food was a disgrace !! I eat here often , in person all good . The brisket was dried up , the bread ( toast , which I did not request ) was burnt ) Usually these sandwiches are very big and I can barely eat 1/2. Today it was meager . Never again would I order this expensive $40 sandwich ( no soda , no extra's ) Major disappointment /Fail

Don't go to this restaurant at all. And I'm not saying this because of the food, that's mediocre at best, the reason why is the customer service is probably the worst I've seen at any establishment I've been to. I went in there to order some food, and the waitress couldn't even be bothered to be polite, she looked like she was going to spit at me, with a horrible disposition and attitude. OK maybe she was having a bad day, I get, it, we all have them, but this has happened repeatedly, and with other employees... Even the manager is as rude as the waitresses. Nobody deserves this kind of service, especially in this day and age. So my recommendation is, I give this eatery, a minus 20 star review. I can't highlight enough how horrible this place is in terms of atmosphere and the way they treat their customers. As soon as you walk in there, you feel the negative energy...run from this place!!!

Just skip going here. There is a much better kosher restaurant in the same shopping center (Chimichurri). The staff is not the nicest, especially the “manager” Rob… he is extremely rude and shouldn’t be dealing with people. I also wouldn’t want him touching my food. Portions are mediocre for what they charge. And if you order takeout, don’t expect Cole slaw… apparently it’s fine to give if you’re eating there but not to give for to go orders. Perhaps I don’t want to eat there because the vibe of this establishment is just depressing. Please send Rob back to managerial school… he needs help! Won’t be coming back to this location.

I will say that I had REALLY high expectations. We had matzo ball soup, hot pastrami sandwiches, square knish, rugelach and linzer cookies. The hot pastrami was definitely the star of all the things we tried. It had a good amount of meat, the bread was fresh, with great flavor. Unfortunately the knish was the worst, as the outside dough was not fully cooked, and still raw. The potato inside was delicious though. Talking to a friend, I learned that they had the same experience here. The rugelach didn't give the impression of being fresh baked, but just tasted like soemthing I might buy from a supermarket. The linzers also didn't feel fresh, but they were a little closer to what I expected. The matzo soup was good. Not much more to say on that. All in all, I would return for the sandwiches, and maybe soup, but definitely go elsewhere for sweet treats.

Last night ordered Hot corn beef on rye, round potato knish & diet black Cherry soda. While having the Cole slaw I waited for the sandwich to arrive. The knish was extremely small and put mustard on rye bread. Fruit flies around the table. The sandwich was COLD. Advertised as HOT. Never will return and the waiter never introduced himself or asked how everything was!!!

I haven't been to a Ben's in a long time so this visit was nostalgic as well. They are in big lot with other businesses so there's shared parking but plenty of it. It's a revolving door to get in, which is awesome, and you can order stuff from the counter to go right away or walk in a little bit further to eat in. There's a huge menu as well above the counter so you can get a sneak peek before you get the menu at the table. We were seated promptly with menus, water, pickles and coleslaw. They had booths and tables . I only gave the menu a cursory glance as I already knew I was getting a pastrami sandwich and a knish. Our waitress was nice and took are orders and the food came out promptly. Everything was delicious just like I remembered. Not too pricey which is always a plus for good food.
