I got my wedding cake through Benkerts bakery and it was absolutely perfect. I had a very specific cake request that required fresh flowers included on top and it looked amazing. The cake tasted so good!! We wanted fresh strawberry jam in our cake which many bakeries were unable to do, but Benkerts did it and knocked it out of the park. I dropped in because I was craving Crumb cake.
The place is clean and well organized. I did not wait and was served immediately.
The young lady was really striving to give me a stellar experience and she did.
All that is important but I was expecting a luscious piece of crumb cake. What I got was hard and tasty but the texture was disappointing.
Next time I have this craving I will buy an Entenmanns.
If a baker doesn't keep up...

The best since 1965, that's how long I've been going there after a 5 year absence I visited Long Island and went straight to Benkerts, not pizza not bagels, not Chinese no Benkerts and damn glad I did, and will do it again. Can't go wrong, there one place that's equal since 1962 and that's in Ozone Park Queens.
