I loved the broth, the noodles, and all the slides. The only issue i had is the toppings are put in for you. Id rather put them in myself. The waitress was very nice and attentive.

Crossing bridge noodles is one of the cutest names for a dish and whose etymology of course has to do with an old Chinese tale-- Legend has it a wife would regularly bring her scholar husband noodle soup and found that by the time she crossed the bridge to deliver him food the noodles would be soggy and the soup would be cold. Hence why the dish is served with all the vegetables and noodles separated from the broth itself. Dumping each individual ramekin of veggies and chives into my vat of hot soup is half the fun of dining on this dish, though my dining companion found this aspect tiresome and more for novelty and show than it is for any practical purpose. I'm starting to agree. For all the fanfare of this place and its dishes, my soup and that of my dining companion were severely under seasoned and bland. For a dish like this the entirety of the flavor has to come from the soup. We asked for soy sauce and chili oil but it did little to add flavor to the meal. I was going to add that a saving grace was the low price of the meal, but I can't even say that really. If you're wanting to try crossing bridge noodles, this dish is no longer a rarity in the city, so I'd go searching for a more flavorful version than the one offered here.
