The customer service here definitely needs improvement. They're pretty strict about not changing anything on the menu, even the smallest tweaks. There was a time I waited over 20 minutes for my order. I noticed they were pretty friendly with some regulars, calling them by name, which is nice and all. But when I asked twice about my order, they were pretty rude in their response, making me feel like I didn't belong. I won't be going back.

My fiancé had a fond memory of the Bake Shoppe in Patchogue (which closed during COVID), so we decided to try the Centerport location. This place has the most diverse pie selection in all of Long Island, and perhaps in NY. Although we didn’t try their pies we ordered breakfast sandwiches and a muffin. The sandwich was delicious and the muffin was perfect. I immediately texted friends who were local to the shop how amazing it is. Those who knew of it agreed and those who hadn’t will be making a trip shortly. Thanks for good eats!

I live an hour away and it was worth every minute of the drive. I had an egg sandwich on their INCREDIBLE cheddar biscuit. It was amazing. Side note: the basil mayo tastes like pesto and it's fantastic. The chocolate frosted donut was the best I've ever had. The chocolate tasted real, not like a DD donut. The kids ate free and had a great list of options; pancakes, waffle, Mac and cheese, grilled cheese, donut, and some kind of bowl. My older son had the grilled cheese and it was STACKED with cheese. So much so that he was only able to eat half. I brought home the birthday cake scone and it was just as heavenly as I thought it would be. Tonight for dinner I brought home one of their savory pies, the chopped cheese which is essentially a cheeseburger in a pie and I'm so excited to try it. I really can't say enough about this place and I'll be back soon to try more.

I have come here a few times whenever I’m in the area because their food is delicious. They have a good selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, as well as a huge selection of pies. Their pot pies are one of the best you’ll ever have. This past time I bought a shepherd’s pie and brought it to a party and everyone said how good it was. I experienced excellent and friendly service by 3 different employees who took time to explain what all the different pies were. They were very helpful. They have several tables inside to sit and eat as well. Definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back to try other pies because they all looked delicious.

Rude owner, and clearly does not care if they loose repeat customers. Recently placed special order, picked up on time, ate same day - it was stale with off taste (different from last orders). Called to ask if recipe had changed or if pick up date was incorrect given it was so stale. Was told “No, goodbye and good luck”.What?! Ok. I’ll spread the word. No more business from me. Hometown Bakery became part of my Sunday routine over the past year…Unfortunately, I will no longer be a patron of this bakery or recommend them to others - as I’m a true believer in supporting local businesses. Never again will I step foot in this bakery!The treatment I received this past Sunday by the owners and their staff was disgusting and despicable. I picked up my order and when I got home we were given either someone else’s order or they just made us the wrong items. Could have been a very simple mistake right? Not to the owners of Hometown….We called to let them know that we did not get the right food. We were told “that’s your order - that’s what you asked for - there is no mistake.” I couldn’t believe it and called back to speak to the owner who was beyond obnoxious and unwilling to correct the mistake. I explained to her that This was food we NEVER would have ordered and I just spent $30 on 2 sandwiches we won’t even eat and paid for 2 donuts and only got ONE She HUNG UP ON ME. I called back and she refused to come to the phone - and made one of her teenage employees take the call. I was hung up on AGAIN! Now I’m upset and not willing to accept this treatment from a business that just took my money and could have very easily just made right on the mistake by making 2 new sandwiches and giving us the other donut we paid for and didn’t get .…that’s all we wanted was the food we ordered. I call back and I get the 2nd owner who proceeds to ask me in the most sarcastic, mocking manner….”what do you want us to do for you come to your house and pick the vegetables off your sandwich for you???? You know there are bigger things in life to worry about - hopefully one day you realize that.” As she proceeded to laugh.I was stunned! I literally couldn’t believe it. How does this owner know what her customers are going through in their lives to be so condescending?? There was a reason we couldn’t eat the sandwiches they gave us - but do I need to explain that to them? The answer is NO….I suppose Hometown Bakery doesn’t mind loosing customers like me who went there every weekend and recently spent 100’s of dollars over the recent holidays on their pies/desserts.These owners should be ashamed of themselves - what a disgusting way to model customer service to their young employees too. Clearly, NOT modeling “the customer is always right” philosophy - instead just laugh at them, mock them, hang up on them…and don’t make things right is the business model for Hometown.Good job, owners! You just lost a good customer.

Absolutely no flexibility or assistance with our issue. My boyfriend and I ordered this food for his family for Christmas and thanks to their lack of care or consideration, we will have rotten and stale food for Christmas. Really great food and endless selections of pies (and more). Egg sandwiches options are also vast and customizable. Lots of variety. Prices aren’t listed on their menus. A bit disorganized ordering process when you are in the shop, but every worker I interacted with was lovely. Scone was huge and a big soft/under cooked in the middle. Probably because of its size. The crispy edges were delicious though.

The food is incredible! The ONLY reason I cannot rate this place higher is because every single time we order breakfast in advance they get our order wrong. And I’m not talking once or twice, I’m probably talking 6-8 times in a row. So we do we keep coming back? Because the food is very good. Plus I’ve consistently noticed an attitude with some of the front desk employees.
