Crabtree's Kittle House Restaurant & Inn

We go to Crabtree every year for our anniversary and this year was just a little disappointing. Apparently they are renovating, but the menu was about 25% of the usual menu and they were even out of one of their limited amount of entrées. And this was on a Saturday night. The waiter who took our drink orders didn't get that right either. The ambience, which was once very elegant is now just very basic and plain. We're hoping after all the renovations are done and the menu is restored. It will be back to its former glory. 

We were unaware that the kitchen would not be servicing their regular menu when we booked. The service was extremely slow and the food was OK at best. We love this restaurant, but we attribute this experience to the fact that they're renovating their kitchen and main dining area. We would've liked to have known that when we booked it. 

We were looking forward to our dinner at Kittle House to celebrate an anniversary. We found the menu somewhat limited and for the prices, extremely uncreative. The snap pea salad sounded wonderful but turned out to be tasteless and the snap peas were overcooked. My husband's pasta dish was passable, and the eggplant parm (the only plant based meal option) was just not good, having a burnt taste. The only positive about our visit was the wait staff who were very personable and accommodating.

The best part of our Mother's Day dinner was that the food itself was quite good, and the prix fixe menu had a nice mix of choices. The staff were working hard but seemed inexperienced and rather anxious. The prices, even for a holiday, were very high and far more than the overall experience warranted.

love the kittle house in past but almost $1000 for 5 persons on mother's day and no included basic drink way too steep

It was the best meal I've ever had! Huge compliments to the talented chefs and thank you to the staff for being so professional. 10/10 would recommend

Was looking forward to this meal but at this price, we could have had a Michelin star meal in NYC. I was dissatisfied with the menu and value

We enjoy the food and the service I did not check the cost of the Valentines dinner price fix before making the reservation I think the charges were excessive

Went on Valentines day. Overpriced Price Fixe for the experience. Service is mediocre, food was mediocre at best. No management to be found or ever ask how things were. Servers for the price of $155 a person could have been off the street and thrown to serve. I have no problem with paying almost $500 for a dinner for 2, but the service and food should be better than I can provide. So, we were disappointed. The building and setting is nice though. and we were greeted nicely......after that ehh.

Valentine's Day is always difficult at a restaurant but it could not have been nicer. From the welcome we received at the front (big smiles, coat check, etc) through dessert and a complimentary rose on leaving, it was a magical evening. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable.

I have dined here many times and have never had a bad experience. In fact, my son got married there. The restaurant and ground are beautiful. The service spot on and they are friendly and accommodating

We booked our reservation two weeks ago and it seemed like we were given a "throw away" table right next to the kitchen. No one checked on us for 20 minutes, and it took another 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Dessert came 15 minutes after we ordered and the coffee I ordered came 15 min after that. Food was very very good, but service could have been better.

Thoroughly enjoyed our brunch at Crabtree's Kittle House. The four course prix fixe menu provides options for everyone's taste and is very generous. Food is delicious and service is very welcoming and attentive. The views and ambience are peaceful. We'll definitely be regulars.

Nice ambience but quality of food to cost was disappointing. Overall experience was disappointing from prior visits.

Food was slow. The maitre day tried to blame our unhappiness about the speed of the food on the lateness of one of our parties. The food itself was mediocre for the price.
