Tico is a wonderful owner who cares about his patrons and his product. He is so proud of his family and his restaurants. My family and I had a phenomenal meal and a fantastic time talking to Tico while we were relaxing after dinner. I'm looking forward to trying the birria tacos next time we stop in. Tico's is a great AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant nestled in our little town of Chaumont NY! While it is a little pricey the food is always amazing and will not disappoint! My wife and I had an impromptu lunch on a Friday afternoon there in October 2023 and we had the place to ourselves (sadly for the restaurant, but nice for us!). We go as often as we can and would recommend it to anyone! Last I heard they are going to start serving breakfast too! I recommend that you try ANYTHING on the menu... we haven't had anything we didn't like!
Wow! Not only is this some of the best authentic mexican in the area, the staff is AMAZING! The owner/chef loves to talk about the food options, share secrets, and interact with the customers. The place looks simple on the outside, but is sooo nice on the inside! Check it out..you will not be disappointed!

We decided to check this place out after reading about how people raved about the food in their reviews. the food we ordered was pretty good, the only complaint was the rice was a bit under cooked and their sweet tea wasn’t very good, kinda a imitation tasting

We were up visiting our friends in point peninsula and decided on Mexican. Our friends went to this place several times and suggested we all go. Mind you it's a Monday night and most restaurants are closed. But José the owner decides to keep his restaurant open to service his clientele. Took a look at the specials and the menu, and there are quite a number of entries for you to pick from. But of course, first out came the chips and salsa. They look different to me and definitely were better tasting than the average chip. to find out that everything in this restaurant is homemade from scratch. We had four people in the party and each one of us had something different and I'm telling you some of the best Mexican food we ever had. I then was tempted to get the mango cheesecake. My wife got the lava cake and my friend got the caramel chocolate cheesecake. Well I didn't eat the others but I had the mango cheesecake and I've never tasted more delicious cheesecake in my tiger life. And my mom is a gourmet cook and cooks the best. New York style cheesecake in the world. Congratulations to this excellently run and quality food restaurant at a reasonable price. I definitely will be coming back to this restaurant for another great Mexican meal. If you get through chamount Bay heading up to 3 mile Bay or point Peninsula, you have to check this restaurant out. Great job Jose first five star I've had in a while keep up the good work.

Usually a good little place but a couple weeks ago, I just did a pick up for nachos. When we eat in, the one waitress acts like we have a disease and is stand offish but we don’t take that personally. The owner usually comes out to greet us which we like. But, for my pick up, it seemed as of everyone was away and the kids were manning the restaurant. It was a Sat eve but barren. The one kid had his gf at the bar making eyes at one another and the other was sneezing and hacking, even when he went in the kitchen to make my nachos. Which were sloppily presented with some cheese thrown on and beef slopped on. I make better (and should’ve gotten stuff at dollar general for half) to make my own. I season my beef and ingredients but I usually like this place and thought I’d support a small business. One girl was on the other side eating and texting. Seemed like a free for all and rather barren but despite being so slow, plates and dishes were piled up on the tables and the place was a mess. I won’t be in a super hurry to come back.

Food was very good. Atmosphere is casual but very nice. We had no idea there was a huge restaurant behind what looks like a take-out store front! Owner came out and asked how our meal was and chatted with us for a good 15 minutes. Service was slow but attentive.... but the restaurant was very full when we arrived, so we understood the slow service. We will definitely go here again!

We were on vacation and passed by and decided to stop in for dinner one night and wished we hadn’t waited until our last day or we would have gone again. Everything was delicious! The guacamole tasted like it was just freshly made, my taco salad was delicious (just wish they had some sort of dressing), kids menu is always great. Cute and clean inside, nice service and the cook/ owner(?) came out and chatted with us, all very friendly. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!
