Just an absolutely fantastic stay. No notes. Beautiful heritage home with an attentive innkeeper. Delicious rotating breakfasts. I was so pleased that the rooms had air conditioning as many other heritage hotels I’ve stayed at have not. The room was also stocked with books to read and old radio cassette tapes which was a lovely touch. I was surprised how sound proof it was as well. Once our door was shut we couldn’t hear anything from the rest of the hotel. We were also able to bring our dog, which was surprising for a heritage hotel. We celebrated the end of our honeymoon and my birthday here. It was my dream to stay at a heritage hotel for it, but we had been understandably struggling due to having our corgi with us. This place was a wonderful unique spot drenched in history and beautiful furnishings. We loved staying in Clarence Hollow, and spent most of our time in town for perusing the numerous antique shops near by. Highly recommend the Asa Ransom Hotel (soon to be renamed) for your next vacation!

5/5 Excellent
History abounds in every room and corner of this quaint and cozy old-fashioned boutique hotel on Main Street in the heart of Clarence. I am 75 years old and I felt like I was visiting my grandparents home. It was delightful. Surrounded by vintage artwork, antiques, beautiful interesting wall-papers, furniture, beds, bedding, tables, chairs, chandeliers, ceiling fans, even lamps you feel as if you were transported back in time (and to more relaxed, peaceful world). Delicious food. Warm and friendly welcome and personal service too from the owner of the hotel. Our room had a walk-out balcony overlooking a lush courtyard. Each room is tastefully decorated differently. Highly recommend.

Decided to stay here for the evening that we were in the USA from Toronto. What a brilliant decision. From first arrival we were blown away with the establishment (love old homes) and the customer service. Very nice gentleman that greeted us and as it turns out he is the chef as well. Lovely vintage property with a fireplace in room. The breakfast was absolutley delicious! Definatley coming back and referring everyone who will listen. Thank you for the hospitality.

I stayed overnight at Asa Ransom House on a spontaneous trip to Niagara Falls and very much enjoyed the experience. I booked the morning of my stay and checked in around 4 and everything was already ready! From the room to breakfast, everything was so charming and lovely. The room I stayed in had two twins and was decently sized, workable for 2 people. The water pressure was surprisingly strong, stronger than at my house! There was a private deck to my room and a dog bathroom area next to it, which was perfect for my sheltie. Breakfast was surprisingly good, I’m a Marriott person for most of my work travel and it knocked any of their breakfast options out of the park easily. While not a super close stay to Niagara, I think it’s 100% worth considering if you want to stay somewhere unique and quiet.

We stayed here overnight and was pleasantly surprised at the warm welcome we received. We called ahead and we were late in getting there. It was clean and everything was nice.
Love the decor and hearing about the history of the house.
Breakfast was amazing
We would highly recommend this place and will definitely be back

Wife and I enjoy staying at historic B&B accomodations and the Asa Ransom House was a perfect fit. We were in from Delaware for a family reunion. I grew up about 20 minutes drive southeast but had never visited Clarence, NY--a bit about that later. We stayed in Room #2 (Rebecca Hamlin) on the second floor to the left of the stairwell landing. Visit the Asa Ransom House website for room descriptions-- they're accurate. Of note, there's a small refrigerator/freezer in the closet and a 3-port USB recharger on the nightstand. Window A/C unit cools the room (did it's job) and built in heater (didn't need it in the 90° summertime temps). Cable TV was a bit laggy but we didn't use it much. There were plenty of books on the shelves and two comfortable chairs. Overall, a clean, relaxing room. Breakfast was served at 8:30 each morning--it was superb! Bradley (owner) prepared and served each meal (quiche on morning 1, souffle on day 2) paired with a mixed fruit dish and a delicious muffin. Serving size was just right to satisfy the appetite. Coffee, orange juice, and water quenched the palate. Bradley provided a fascinating history lesson about the home's origin, use and surrounding area. Ask him about it--you will be pleased! Regarding the surroundings, highly recommend of visited to the town park about an eighth of a mile up Main Street. It is a must visit for history buffs. For Bills fans, there's an enormous BFLO store with all things Buffalo sports related a few miles further up Main. As a Buffalo wings afficionado, we visited the Bar-bill North restaurant and feasted on a variety of wings and roast beef on kimmelwick--great stuff. There was a farmers market open during our weekend stay with plenty of choices for everyone (we left with 4 bottles of wine). Overall, highly recommend a stay at the Asa Ransom House. It, and the surrounding area, were well worth the money!

From the outside this B&B doesn’t look like much, but inside, it’s gorgeous! Beautifully decorated, immaculately clean. Very quiet at night. Breakfast is superb.

The owner/ host, David is an absolute gentleman.

It’s not in the heart of downtown NOTl being about a mile from Queen street. I liked the location, especially once we learned how was it is to park on Queen St over by the golf course, then it’s a very short walk to the shops and restaurants.

Price for a room is very reasonable

Be advised, no pets allowed .

Good Internet. I got 135 MB/S with 8 MS latency.

Enjoy

I messed up the reservation but they were able to accommodate us. Inside and outside are beautiful. If you love antiques you'll love this place. Innkeeper so kind. Breakfast was delicious. Loved being there.

Afternoon tea! We celebrated our 32nd anniversary by going to tea here last Saturday. The food was outstanding, with the full compliment of afternoon tea items like finger sandwiches, scones and fancy desserts. Being foodies, it was clear to us things were fresh and made in house. An interesting mix of other diners, quite a few obvious worldly tea regulars & aficionados, but sprinkled with some newbies who seemed to be a bit nonplussed with what afternoon tea is supposed to be and we’re a little loud. That was the lone drawback to our visit, but it didn’t spoil a really special experience for us.

We had a great experience over a holiday weekend. Wonderful decor and pleasant staff. A great history behind the location and the site. We will be back.

Visiting my mom, I stayed here this past weekend. Stayed 2 nights, 3 days- it’s a very nice historic inn. Very close to Brothers of Mercy where my mom lives. It’s immaculately clean, very comfortable and is full of character. Love the sense of history. Beautiful grounds and beautifully decorated. Friendly and helpful innkeeper and staff. Breakfast was delicious.

Yesterday took my mother to their afternoon tea, which was so fun. Food was great and the experience very similar to what we had when we traveled to London. The scones were particularly fresh and good, and the sandwiches and sweet desserts were yummy too. We’re definitely going to make this a regular thing when I visit. My mother is already making the plans!

If I could rate no stars I would. Today we went to the tea, and to say I was upset was an understatement. $90 for me and my husband, for extremely lackluster sandwiches, tasteless desserts and 21% gratuity tacked on for a girl you KNOW makes above minimum wage to just waltz in, set down a tray, and leave for the remainder of the tea? As well as tea I could get at Walmart for like $3. And I can tell by the responses to some other one star reviews that the new owner is entitled and extremely rude, specifically the response to the complaint about the Mother’s Day tea. I’m pretty sure everyone knows what a “tea party” is we literally grew up playing them as children…?? I would hope that you lose some of your pride and listen to the low star reviews because sometimes it pays to improve on what is, may I add, extremely distasteful and lacking. First time here and will NEVER be returning after seeing the responses to other reviews.

Do not go for the tea party. It is a waste of money. 45 dollars a person and you get tea you can buy from Walmart. Then they add a 21% gratuity fee for someone to just bring you out a couple of tea bags and stale food. We were extremely disappointed with the absolute waste of money. We have always been told this is a great experience, but clearly something has happened because it is not good at all. At least I got to spend some time with my family. Will never be going here again.

Good 3-star bnb but it is not an overall 4+ star property as reviews would indicate. Wallpaper was peeling, bathroom was worn, stairs are tight and steep. Nothing terrible but nothing remarkable either.
