I ate here a few years ago. The prices were kinda high but the food was really good. But just went back and the prices were extremely high and the quality just wasn't there. We ordered a lobster bisque and a clam chowder. The cashier took the time to show me a different size for dine in but failed to tell me it was 2.00 more expensive each. The New England clam chowder tasted like potato bacon soup. I didn't taste any clams. The lobster bisque was barely warm. We also ordered 2 fish fries. Again 1.00 extra for 3 small red potatoes that were super dry with no seasoning. The other sides were served in small plastic takeout containers. The fish was good but extremely small portion. Just didn't seem like a 65.00 meal served in plastic. I don't think I would return or recommend to anyone any longer. Extremely disappointed that we made the trip there.

I am from the New England area. And, I am a tough customer in regards to seafood. Hayes is the best! At the restaurant. To pack it up raw. And cook for yourself! Simply put. The freshest and best in the buffalo and surrounding areas!!!!

Great seafood!!! Best in Western New York. During my visit I had Mahi Mahi tacos while others in my party ordered Blackened Grouper. All was Fresh and Well Prepared. Service is unique, but prompt and helpful. Atmosphere is clean and has a New England feel. I highly recommend it for Seafood lovers.

Gutting that I couldn’t visit this place earlier during my stay in Buffalo !Loved celebrating the Buffalo tradition of a Fish Fry dinner on Friday !We ordered the Haddock dinner , light battered fresh fish served with a delectable coleslaw and fresh homemade fries and a tartar sauce. The dinner was delicious and satisfying to the soul !Also the lobster roll, was so refreshing to eat such a delicious lobster roll in Buffalo, totally unexpected but loved every bit of it .They have a small cozy place to sit and dine , not a fine dine but it’s cozy enough to squeeze a date night in . Loved the place and just wish them all the best.P.S They also served Alcohol !

Oh....my.....God! I can't believe you can get seafood this good in Buffalo! I'm just finishing dinner and every single thing was beyond amazing! Will definitely make this a regular stop and the only stop for seafood.
The food at Hayes is absolutely superb! You haven't had a real fish fry until you've had it with fresh fish! The fry is perfectly golden and crisp and the fish just flakes away beautifully with eat bite! Their fries are also amazing and have that battered type of fry to them that makes them super crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The portions are huge so come in hungry or plan to share! My partner loved the fried clams and my bang bang shrimp was seriously THE BEST shrimp I've ever had! We will definitely be going back soon. Great food, adorable marine decor and really a friendly staff! What more could you ask for?!

Very disappointed bought two fish fry's and shrimp cocktail the fish fry's were less then average and at 60 bucks I expect more for what I paid worst fish fry I've had in awhile. The worst part got a seat and was kicked out to seat someone else wouldn't have cared expect I had just had surgery. No waiters here self serve and for what we paid it was a below average experience. Won't be returning!

Hayes is a great place to go for a fish dinner. Order at the counter, and they will either give you a pager so that you can pick up your food when it's ready, or give you a numbered sign for your table so they can deliver it. My favorites are the lobster bisque and broiled Atlantic salmon with red skinned potatoes and green beans. If you are looking for a fine dining atmosphere, go somewhere else. Nothing but great food here.
