Open late. Arrived at 915pm on Saturday evening. First time dining. Clean friendly atmosphere. Service was exceptional. Food was fresh and flavorful. The dishes we had were Mohawk River Roll, Thai Crabs Cakes, Crab Rangoon and Chicken Stir Fried Pad Thai. All served neatly. All so tasty. Chicken was so tender. Highly recommend.

Our food was so salty we couldn’t finish it. It was our first time there and our last.

I've dined here many times before and always had a positive experience—until our last visit in November. We came to celebrate my daughter's birthday with a hibachi dinner (a group of 8, including 4 young children).

- We were the only hibachi table, and the restaurant was mostly empty, but the dinner was rushed with salads/soup coming when we didn't yet finish
- The waiter abruptly told us there was no Happy Hour, even though it is still advertised on the website.
- Waiter's behavior was unacceptable. He picked up on the foreign language my parents were speaking and began rudely mimicking their words
- The worst part was when the waiter brought out "Cake Time" glasses for my oldest daughter, who was turning 8 -- a kind gesture. In the past, the restaurant would make balloon animals for all the children. This time, the waiter kept saying, “I bought this with my own money, this is not from the restaurant,” and kept repeatedly upsetting all other children. The children were happy for the birthday girl, but he made things worse by bringing out one additional tiara, excluding the other two children. We asked him to stop flashing the bag of goodies if he wasn’t going to include everyone.

I approached the manager (Nate or Nash) asking him talk to the waiter to simply stop. The waiter saw me and went to our table to give the remaining two kids similar tiaras. BUT at the end of the dinner, he took them away from their heads, creating total chaos. The manager was completely unhelpful.

We’ll be continuing our birthday hibachi tradition at Azuma from now on.

Kid-friendliness: Absolutely do not go to this place with the kids.

Took my boy out for an impromptu Dad & Son dinner. He chose the activity/restaurant and wanted hibachi. Sake Bon I was so accommodating for our small group of two. We ordered the kid's filet mignon hibachi and adult shrimp hibachi, which were expertly prepared by the chef with the usual flare. An app of soft shell crab (boy's fav!) and (do NOT sleep on the) Thai Crab Cakes. Delicious. Great service, wonderful experience and a great memory for Dad & his boy.

Kid-friendliness: Friendly for adventurous kids have previously been exposed to hibachi and/or sushi experiences. Other menu options available, too. The hibachi experience is entertaining and engaging.

I went to this place yesterday with some friends of mine for one of their birthdays and it was amazing, the staff were all very friendly and patient their was little wait for our food to come out and the hibachi was amazing. All around a great place to sit down and eat with a large gathering, not sure what the other people in these reviews are talking about when they say the customer service is bad.

Told us it would’ve 35 minutes and it was over an hour. They also gave us the wrong persons order at first until we said something.

I had a very disappointing experience at Sake Bon while celebrating a friend's birthday with a group of 15 people. Despite the restaurant advertising a happy hour from 4-9pm on Wednesdays, we didn't receive the discounts. The place was nearly empty, but our server was clearly flustered. He initially seemed friendly but became quite rude when we asked for water, claiming he had already brought enough when we had only received four glasses. When we requested straws, he came back with two in each glass, which was just bizarre.
An appetizer we ordered was forgotten, and he argued with us about it, even though others at the table confirmed we had ordered it. During the "show," I had to go to the bar myself to get drinks and more water. The bartender (who might have been the manager) mentioned that the server gets flustered with large groups but did nothing to help him, allowing the rudeness to continue.
The chef also seemed disinterested and acted as if we were inconveniencing him by being there. At the end of our meal, the server refused to split our bill, and gratuity was automatically added. When I paid in cash, the server threw the coins from my change back at me in annoyance after seeing that I had left them as a tip.
I usually tip generously at hibachi restaurants because of the show aspect, but this time, I felt that the automatic tip was more than they deserved given the disrespectful service and the fact that I had to get my own drinks.
