I've been here several times and I would advise to never go for lunch. The wait staff was miserable. We asked if we could substitute a menu item and we were informed that it comes as is on the menu. We were also informed that the chef had left for the day. (It was 1pm). The seafood was absolutely horrible. The calamari was mush and the clam strips were over cooked. I won't be going back.
My husband & I stop in occasionally for their little neck clams on the 1/2 shell and a cold beer. Who would figure a non coastal town to have some of the freshest, most delicious clams we've EVER had?
The 1st time I ordered the Cioppino and Pad Thai rice noodles the food was amazing. I've ordered it twice more since then and the 2nd time the Cioppino had less variety of seafood (chunks of fish mostly instead of the scallops, shrimp clams, etc...that I experienced my 1st time there) and even less taste as did the Pad Thai. The Pad Thai also looked completely different (1st time it was reddish/orange with a spicy slightly sweet amazing taste, 2nd time was underwhelming to say the least). The food was so different that I convinced myself it must've been a different chef (it had to be). The 3rd, and what will be my last, time was so bad that I now know the 1st meal was cooked by someone else. It was this 3rd time that I met the chef when I picked up my food - had takeout each time. I told him I ordered these dishes before and really enjoyed them the 1st time (didn't offer any info about the 2nd time), then asked him if he was the chef and he said he was. He didn't say, oh I just started or ask how long ago was it that you ordered that dish in order to clarify that he was hired afterwards. So, he's Salty's chef and what he served up in these two dishes was, sadly, not in the same ballpark of what his relief chef cooked for me the 1st time. If only I knew who he/she was and where he/she is cooking now.
Just ok....not the same place of 5 years ago.
Hosted an anniversary party there this past weekend. The owner was accommodating, welcoming & super flexible when we arrived early. Our waitress was amazing & the food was delicious!!! Can't ask for a better place to take a group of people- the menu has something for everyone. Great food, good atmosphere & affordable prices!! Highly recommend
Always love salties. They have a good seafood selection for upstate New York
Amazing place and great fresh food! A bit hard to find on the waterfront, but this restaurant is a hidden gem. The seafood platter I ordered was amazing, my husband enjoyed his burger also. The white sangria was the best we've ever had. Very friendly staff, I highly recommend this restaurant. We went to the Halifax NS location.
Portions are down the last two times I've been here and prices are way up....this place used to be awesome... won't be coming as often as I used to
Ordered a hot pastrami sandwich while passing through on vacation and received a large serving of staphlococus food poisoning. As a result, I got to spend about six hours in the emergency room at our destination. The next three days of vacation consisted of siping ginger ale and a munching on a few crackers. I emailed them over a week ago and have not heard anything back - no appology - nothing. As a result, I recommend you stay away from this place as they truly don't care about their customers or their safety.
Salty's is just OK. The food is fairly good but the prices are ridiculous. They'd be better off cutting their portion sizes in half, because they give you enough to feed an army, and cutting their prices by about 1/3. I also didn't appreciate the old guy at the bar drunkingly yelling about how much he hates liberals and loves Trump; I can't imagine that's good for business.

Salt's is tucked behind a pharmacy in a small strip mall. Hard to find but our B&B host told us about it and were we ever glad. A welcoming environment and serving staff. The menu is packed with seafood dishes and the aroma from the kitchen is, too
In the area for the night and decided to eat dinner here and it was phenomenal. Decently priced meals with good sized portions. Food was excellent and came out really quick!
Not Good Food At All. Great Service Bad Cook. There was no one there when we went so there were no excuses on hurrying up with the food. Definitely won't be going back
The staff was friendly, the drinks were cheap and the food was great. The price for everything was affordable
Went for St. Patrick's meal. The corned beef was all full of fat.The potatoes were hard. Very disappointed with food. No soda bread?.....
