The pizza that we had tonight is the same pizza that my grand parents and parents had at the same restaurant in 1958, I cut my teeth on the crust when I was a baby . The recipes have not changed in 70 plus years. Best pizza ever!!

First time here. Food was actually quite good. I'd definitely go back and try their pizza next time. My only issue was that I felt the tables were too close together. There is not enough room in between, and to have a conversation, you have to talk on the low side. Still, it won't stop me from revisiting.

Friday is a busy night, which is why we used Open Table for a reservation. They could not honor the Open Table reservation. Seated after a 45 min wait, only slightly shorter than walk-in. Waitresses doing EVERYTHING - hosting, busing tables, aswering the phone for take-out in addition to serving food and drinks! And there were three of them for the entire dining room. All under the watchful eye of the owner, or manger, chatting with the locals at the bar. Servers were so harried and the kitchen so slow that the entire dining expereince took over 2 hours. Tipped my normal 20% to our waitress as they were doing the best they could, but will not be back despite the food being decent. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area to get decent Italian food.

WORST .., literally…. Worst service EVER. We didn’t even get a chance to sit down yet. The woman running the podium (Sherry) should not be dealing with people. Absolutely running around like a chicken with her head cut off. Rude to customers, even more rude to the poor woman behind the bar. Barking orders to everyone, barely calling out names to people who are waiting for tables, mumbled the name once, then mumbled a second time, and before the name was out of her mouth the second time, said “going twice…”, and then said, forget it & went on to the next people (group of 4). The bar area was busy, which is where people have to stand, so it’s difficult to hear.We were told that a table would take about 20 minutes. We stood there for 50, (our choice), and watched obvious locals come in (they chatted up other folks there, as well as bartenders who seemed very friendly and sweet), and be seated ahead of us. We watched a couple come in. Stand there literally for seven minutes after chatting and be seated. Saw their name be put on the list in front of ours. I questioned, then was told they had a “reservation on the phone”. Suddenly. NO apologies or even updates, zero. They don’t care. It’s a revolving door, and if you’re lucky enough to get in when the door is spinning around, then good for you. It wasn’t even busy when we walked in and thought we were lucky. It turned into a madhouse about 10 minutes later. Our name was on the list in the third spot when we walked in. A group of three people ahead of us, and another pair. No one else. How that turned into us standing there for 50 minutes watching couple after couple be seated, I have no idea. Had nothing to do with reservations. As we turned around after waiting PATIENTLY that long, obviously upset, we got a sarcastic “have a nice day“. This is how they treat people who are obviously new to the area and not local. New faces. My jaw is literally still on the ground.DON’T bother … i’m sure there are many other wonderful food establishments and restaurants who deserve - and will APPRECIATE - your business.(PS; the other two groups were also NOT happy!!!)

Alteris is a friendly, local restaurant. We were in town for a wedding and visited two nights in a row because the pizza was that good. Both nights we sat outside. Our servers were excellent both nights. The second night we brought friends and our server impressively kept up with all 9 of us.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. We eat here often. Our family favorites are the reuben, veggie sandwich, and the THREE CHEESE PIZZA is like heaven on earth. I recommended it with a side of sauce for dipping. But be warned, it's addictive!

This food was not all homemade. And it was not at all cheap! The pasta looked like it came from a food service company, even the ravioli. The salads consisted of precut bagged romaine and croutons from a box. My vegetables were merely bad frozen mixed - the kind u avoid buying at the grocery store bec they are just inedible. My daughter ordered meatballs with her ziti and got one measly greasy meatball. The red sauce appeared to have been the most basic Ragu they sell at convenience stores. The service was unprofessional and rushed. I thought the server filling our glasses would shatter the glass top table when she slammed our filled glasses down. The staff seemed to huddle around the kitchen trying to hold service together but also clearly gossiping and cavorting. Suffice it to say, we won't be retuning.
