Best soul food in capital region. Sweat heat chicken is always on point. Generous portion sizes and the staff is cool. My only complaint is they're not open more but thats just me being greedy lol.

The owners need to do better in updating the hours. This is the 5th time where it says they are open and it’s actually closed. You can never really follow the schedule that they are own because it’s not a set schedule. They really should call themselves a pop up restaurant. I’ve been in the cohoes area since April and I can truly say that I loved seeing a black owned restaurant. They have to do better. Also they are cash only. They have been saying for months that they are trying to get the POS system working. It is the furthest from the truth. They have no intentions and instead of being honest and just saying they are cash only establishment. They just say “oh they are still working on it”. Now as far as the food it’s great. Chicken, macaroni and cheese, and yams are phenomenal 10/10 hands down. This is coming from someone that is from the south. I just hope they get better business practice. I see the potential of them being a great restaurant but they have to do better.

Oh so delicious : we got the fried chicken, sweet potatoes, mac-n-cheese, cabbage and collard greens. It’s home cooking, it’s comfort food, it’s tasty and we ate it all! We also got the banana pudding and I could write a song about it, it was that wonderful!!!

First off the food here was absolutely amazing! I live nearly two hours away, but I will be finding any excuse to go out there to eat. Additionally, the service was very good. The person who took my order was extremely friendly and helpful when I wasn't sure what to order.
I ordered take out and got chicken wings with the sauce on the side so they were extra crispy. I thoroughly enjoyed both sauces and the chicken was seasoned very well.
For sides I had the sweet yams, mac and cheese, collard greens, and shrimp salad. The yams were a bit too sweet individually, but paired very well with the mac and cheese so it did not become overwhelming. Overall all of these sides were great!
I also ordered the banana pudding for dessert. It was a bit sweet, but overall very good!
I paid $33 for all of this! This was especially great because I was placed in a hotel with no kitchen for work so I had to buy food for lunch and dinner daily and all of this was enough for two meals.

My wife and sister had the sweet heat wings and they were amazing ❤️Don’t forget to grab some banana pudding as well because that definitely topped it off ?Thank you ladies for not only the wonderful food but the amazing service . me & my husband stopped here and the staff was absolutely amazing helpful and sweet...the food was amazing! probably the best tenders we have ever had. they were running out of a couple things (it was the end of the night so thats our fault) but substituted things they didnt have much left of and still gave us whatever they had left of the other item. Definitely will be returning & frequently.. worth every penny. only thing i would recommend for future customers is order early so you dont miss out !
