On Friday, we went to spindles for dinner. We left after a drink and appetizers because on two occasions we distinctly smelled cigarette smoke which lingered for a while and ruined our plans to stay. It was unfortunate because we had heard positive reviews about the food.

I went here early on a Friday night to treat myself to dinner. The server was very pleasant and it was a cozy little place. Unfortunately, when I tried to order they were out of four items on their tiny menu. All items I would have ordered. Since there was really nothing left that I felt like eating I left after a glass of wine. Why on earth would this happen, especially on a weekend? So disappointing.

Went here for dinner tonight and everything was perfect! They have a nice selection of wine. For dinner we had the blackened chicken pasta (incredible), baked brie ( also incredible) and the Flatbread ( perfection). I highly recommend you give this place a try!

Our son was in a concert at the Cohoes City Music Hall so we went to Spindles for dinner. My son, husband, and I all had a wonderful dinner. We tried the fried deviled eggs and they were delicious. I also highly recommend any dish served with their risotto! It was the best I have had. Spindles is worth checking out!

The food is very good! Have been several times. The wine list is also very good. What is NOT GOOD is, the LACK of attention to CLEANING! I went with a friend in August, dined by the window. There were dead flies and dust! I also dined at Anthony’s this weekend - the owner is the same - and albeit nicer than Spindles, it needs a FACELIFT and again CLEANING! We sat in back and there was dust and glass rings on the ledge right next to our table along with coffee stains on the wall. Lastly, The MIRRORS were DIRTY. If it’s like this in the dining area, I can’t imagine the KITCHEN…….don’t want to know. The wait staff was great and so was the food. It’s nice to see a little city like Cohoes have a varietty of restaurants worth going to. When you spend $90 you want cleanliness in the dining area. Please please LISTEN to this. Thank you.

New chef is great! Before the new chef, although they had good selection of wines, the food was average at best. The portions are not big, but extremely delicious. We haven't got a better cheese plate even in Paris! Bruschettas were also great, truly European standard. Spindles has a great potential to become a cool wine bar with European feel if they can update the décor a bit since the food and wine is really up to European standard now, might be even better (Me and my husband travelled a lot in Europe). If the owner could change the interior décor (which feels dark and outdated now), the place can easily go the next level. All plates we tried were delicious but I can especially recommend Malbec wine together with cheese plate and bruschetta for a little taste of Europe.
