I don’t recommend anything about this place. We had a reservation for 6 PM for four people, 50 minutes later, we still didn’t get our food. A Caesar salad, chicken wings, a steak sandwich and a turkey club shouldn’t be taken 50 minutes. People that showed up after us were served, the entire restaurant got served except for us. We questioned where our food was and the first waitress got a little snippy and said basically that we were weren’t the only ones there, UMM WRONG answer. And the second waitress was just as rude. Never got to try the restaurant and will never be here again. Definitely do not recommend this place.

Delicious food, chicken wings were huge, onion rings were done to perfection. The place was super clean and the wait staff was super friendly even though they were working short-handed the owner came over to speak with us and the waitress was smiling and friendly even though she had double the amount of tables to take care of.

The only reason I can understand for this place not having a 5 rating is that patrons don't want to giveaway the secret on how great this place is! Had baked haddock and it was outstanding. Over the past few years of traveling in the northeast and eating a lot of haddock, the Tugboat Tavern prepares some of the best. Right down to the side salad with homemade blucheese dressing and homemade garlic herb butter everything is impeccably prepared. I've had $100+ meals that wouldn't match here.

Every time I come upstate, this is my go-to spot—no question, no hesitation. I usually order out, but today I decided to dine in, and I am beyond glad I did. The moment I walked in, I felt the energy shift—warm, welcoming, vibrant. It’s that rare gem that feels like a secret haven just off the highway, tucked away in plain sight, where the vibe is just as satisfying as the food. Melissa and Kayla—what can I even say? They’re not just staff—they’re soul-infused service professionals. Their care, attention, and presence are next level. There’s no “in between” here. It’s either above and beyond or nothing at all, and this place chooses excellence every single time. And the food? Let’s be real—nothing in in the area even comes close. It’s fresh, flavorful, beautifully presented, and made with heart. Every bite reminds you that some places still care about quality and connection. The space is spotless, the vibe is intimate and cozy, and the energy? Pure joy. If you’re passing through or live nearby—don’t sleep on this place. It’s more than a meal—it’s an experience.

Great food with exceptionally great service! Here before a show at Cohoes Music Hall. Soup, wings, sandwiches and flounder! Recommended for a great meal before a concert or any day of the week.
