Good food, service and atmosphere.
Food was great!
My girlfriend and I had a great dining and drinking experience here today on the 4th, despite these guys being slammed with people walking in the door. Huge respect to the owners son/ floor manager who held it all down in the chaos. We will come back again next time we are in the area. Cheers :)
I never have visited the poughkeepsie location, but I enjoy taking the train to cold spring with my family for a day trip...we wanted some good hearty food and walked up to here from the station, about a 10 minute walk. The staff was super nice and chill atmosphere. The food portions are great and prices in my opinion, were good. The parm wings and artichoke dip was delicious and I ordered the pulled pork mac and cheese and the portion could easily feed 3 people, and the corn bread I got as a extra side was delicious as well.My husband got the prime rib dinner special and it was cooked to perfect and the meat was also delicious. I have no complaints at all. Our waitress was great and she kept drinks full and great to talk with. I HIGHLY recommend this place if you want a relaxing place with good food.will definitely be visiting again.
The worlds best Ruben sandwich! You must get this and you will not be disappointed. The vibe is old school and friendly.
Meatball Flatbread!
THE WORST!! When we arrived it didn’t appear to be too busy. I looked around for a host/hostess to seat us. Nobody was there. I finally saw a waitress and asked if we should just sit anywhere. She said yes and gave us some menus. Another waitress FINALLY came over and got our drink order (iced tea and coke). She came back with iced tea and 2 waters and told us that the carbonation system wasn’t working, so no soda. Ok. Water was fine. She took our food order, and we waited…and waited…and waited…After about 25 minutes I asked a different waitress if we could get our orders to go (our waitress took off her apron and left by this time). She gave us a blank look and called someone else over. We again asked if we could get our order to go. Meanwhile, the table behind us (who came in about 20 minutes AFTER us) had gotten their meals. After waiting over 45 minutes and seeing everyone else in the room receive their meals, we got up and left without ever getting our food or at the very least a drink refill. As we were walking out, they said “Your order is ready”. We’d had it by that point and left without food. I’d never go back there. Horrible!!!
After a five hour hike, we had pre-planned to eat at Murphy's for lunch/dinner.
To start off our meal, we ordered Artichoke dip and nachos, and it was truly so delicious. The portions are incredibly large even for a group of 5 people. It was my first time having artichoke dip and it definitely did not disappoint!
However, the fries were overly salted and the burger was a bit lacking.
The fish and chips with the tartar sauce was quite tasty though. I'd love to try more items on their menu when I'm back to hike!
The staff are kind and energetic but we had to constantly ask for water, utensils, and other necessities.
My boyfriend and I stopped in for dinner here after a 4 hour hike and were so glad we did. The Ruben spring rolls were ridiculously good and something we had never seen anywhere else. Our mains were just as delicious. He had a burger with caramelized onions & a fried egg and I got an incredible mushroom ravioli. The herby cream sauce paired so well with the thick cut mushrooms and crusty bread. We also got raspberry mules which were genuinely the tastiest drinks we’ve had in a while and perfect for an early summer cocktail. J. Murphy's On Main is a true gem with great service, food, and an inviting ambiance.
Parking advice: always easy to park at Main st up from this place.
First time we come here after our first family hike in US (it was breakneck 😅). They let us stay at terrace with our siberian husky. I choosed this place because my wife loves french onion soup and that day she also wanted sweet potato fries. This is the only place in Cold Springs serving both of it.
To describe how strong is my love to this place I will write this: twice I have left 100$ tips. Third time somebody else from my group closed bill.
Only complaint I have is for the previous time — I have asked steak for my husky Simba without seasoning, but it come with it, what caused consequences and night walks that day (that’s after difficult hike), please next time cook steak for dogs without seasoning!
Love you! ❤️❤️❤️😘 I have already started planning our next hike nearby for the only reason — I love your place

So disappointed service was incredibly rude. Only had just started to order drinks when my auntie from the Philippe’s asked if she could have no ice in her drink please. The waiter threw her drink I as someone who worked in the service industry and I was shocked so disgusted. My family actually ended up paying the check and leaving right after

Definitely worth 5 stars, however it was cold in the restaurant and a little gnat fly landed in my beer. I still had 1/3 left. Didn’t complain cause it was pretty busy, and because it was busy it took a little longer than expected for service. The staff were great and the food was very good. I will return.

There aren’t enough stars to cover service. The owner/host did a great job at getting us seated, served and fed. We had the pleasure of his wife and daughter serving us. We discovered that when we shared how much we appreciated our servers recommendations on the meal. And the soup/salad/sandwich was a perfect fit for the day. And the suggestions for local brews and ciders were on the money. We highly recommend the glazed Brussels sprouts and ricotta.
Despite it being a busy day on Main Street with the SeaStreak fall foliage cruise docked and hikers, we were seated quickly and not rushed through our meal. It was a wonderful meal celebrating fall and friendship.
Thanks to staff for providing your best!
