The Quality has clearly gone down in the past few years since they got new owners. Pastries dont taste super fresh.

2 days before thanksgiving, not able to use 20% off coupon?????? It says excludes holidays- today isn’t a holiday, Thursday is 11/28/24. Update your coupons then. Older lady with the mask always on at the commack location is always so nasty. I won’t be back here. Go to Hummel Hummel or Copenhagen Bakery instead!!

I know this bakery has opened stores across long island but the only store half way decent is their original store in Levittown. I bought cakes for Jewish holiday in Commack and they were dry and bland. The 7 layer cakes sponge has no flavor no bounce to it and the chocolate doesn't even have chocolate flavor. The taglach which I afore for holiday had so little honey that your fingers weren't gooey and it tasted like Challah that hadn't been soaked hard and dry even the shape and size weren't traditional but I should have expected that from this bakery. I was a little skeptical of ordering my wedding cake from Dortoni. I have read many poor reviews and I have ordered cakes there myself the past few years and it has not been the same since they switched owners. We went to the one in Commack to do our tasting because the Fox Hollow now only works with Dortoni (which I was not thrilled with at first). It was a little difficult to make an appointment at first they seemed a little confused as to what I was looking for and the manager was only there on certain days so we had to go on a day she was working. But when we met her she was lovely and let us try 3 different cakes and 6 different fillings. Unfortunately the contract with Dortoni through the Fox Hollow does not allow cake flavors other than vanilla and chocolate or there’s an extra charge (again, not Dortoni’s fault) and Fox Hollow only allows one filling, where most venues will allow 2 (again, not Dortoni’s doing). So if you plan to use Fox Hollow for your venue take that in mind you will have to pay extra per head for anything extra you may like in your dream wedding cake. They were as accommodating as they could be with giving us a slight discount since we were already paying for a different cake flavor that when we picked a second filling they gave us half off, they did what they could to make our cost less of a burden. They even gave us a voucher for our 1 year anniversary top tier cake. The cake was delicious and I can’t wait to eat it again next year on our anniversary!

Dietary restrictions: When picking out our wedding cake flavors we were asked to think about any allergies and thankfully the flavors we picked were all allergy-free.

I had googled this bakery as it's close to my niece's new house. I didn't pre-order a birthday cake, but they have a nice variety of cakes. The young lady who waited on me seemed impatient. I got a cake, but there were other items I wanted. But each time I ordered something, she let me know she could take care of me at the register. Two times, I had to tell her I wasn't done ordering. Seemed like she just wanted to ring up my order and take the next person. There weren't that many people in the bakery, but I felt a little put off. I spent $75+ on my order, but was a little upset that she was rushing me instead of saying "is there anything else I can get you?" Everything I ordered was delicious and will be back. But just as a little advice, make sure you ask the customer if there's something else you'd like?

I forgot to buy my daughter a birthday cake and I came into Dortoni on Friday night at 6 PM and they worked magic and put together a gorgeous custom cake for me and my daughter’s birthday. I’m so grateful to them. They were so sweet kind and helped me customize a very special cake on the spot. it is very difficult to find employees that love their job the way these girls do please ensure to recognize them
