We've been here a half dozen times as my mom lives close by. The atmosphere, service, literally the layout is exactly the same as my Bayside NY hometown Deli called Buddies.( Recently closed) .\nYou enter the corner shop, to the register staffed by the tall, not so tall and younger novice. Next the glass display of the sides. The knishes, pickles, kasha, coke slaw.....\nMove on back to the sit down tables for the full experience. Take out is certainly available. The waitresses...
Had a take out order consisting of a large matzo ball soup, potato knish and a large pastrami sandwich. Walked out with a mixed bag of food. The soup great, knish average and sandwich below average . Some of the pastrami was over cooked which made the meat a darker color and less tasty.
I have had hot pastrami in the best places. My sandwich today was one of the best. The meat was moist and not too lean. Just the right amount to make the pastrami moist and tender. Had the square Kinish with mustard veg good. The Cole slaw was one of the best. I will make this my Pastrami place. Good service
