A friend took me on a tour of Long Island where he grew up. I got to meet Mrs. Ray who was a teacher at his school. She's 101 now, and delightful. AND, I got to eat the best ribs ever at The Spare Rib. The environment is cozy, the service is great, and the ribs are out of this world. I had the baby back ribs. I wish they were near my house. If you go, you should order some ribs for Mrs. Ray. Somebody there has to know her. This will definitely become a regular stop for you

Unfortunately, I had to change what used to be a 5-star review. First time back in a long while and all I can say is what happened to this place? The menu and hours were completely slashed. The bread they brought to the table was stale. All four dishes were overcooked and my steak was burned on both sides - ordered medium rare and all I tasted was charred, well done leather. The only reason they’re getting 2 stars instead of 1 is because the waitress was a delight. I’ve been coming here occasionally for the better part of 20 years and don’t remember ever having such a poor experience.

It was our first time! The place was nice and clean. The atmosphere is very casual. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. My wife had the fried shrimp and riblets combo with mashed potatoes and I had the triple ribs with mashed potatoes. We both enjoyed our meals and will definitely go back.

I have to say that is very nice very classy restaurant . I do say the traditional thing but they really need to upgrade their sales for transactions. I’m still not over the fact that I use my card and there was a five dollar surge charge for using the credit card system needs to be updated and they need sure utilize Apple Pay to bring in more revenue. It will be very beneficial to help them. I understand that they’re very traditional, but it’s very important to during the time to keep the ongoing customers to engage in their lovely restaurant, but it is a lovely place to eat in , but it’s just that the forms of payment needed for easy upgraded and be more convenient for customers to return
