The staff rolled with great service and attention to detail, despite a very large party and kitchen staff challenges.
👏👏👏
Good food and good vibes. Low, warm lighting and a great mix of tunes at the perfect volume. Came in Friday night for a burger and a beer, mushroom ravioli and a salad. All great. Will be back when the seasonal menu turns over.
A last minute decision with friends had us searching for a place nearby to have dinner. Finding North Star was a true pleasure!! Everything from the service to our oysters, salad and through to the wonderful desserts was lovely. Definitely will make a return!! 👍😎
Excellent meal and service!
I brought my sister to the Alander Boutique Hotel & North Star Restaurant for her 40th birthday. The General Manager, Ann, was absolutely phenomenal. In all of our phone calls leading up to the stay, she was kind, communicative, helpful & warm. She went the extra mile to make our stay so comfortable & special. She also surprised my sister with a special birthday dessert. We loved our stay & appreciated Ann especially!!!
Reuben Eggroll?...? Did'em, yum. Filet med-rare, spuds, veg, yum. Lobster fresh pasta fettuccine, yum. But a burger on the menu, yeah meh, it's a burger. But then I bit into said burger,.................B U R G E R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a wonderful surprise! This was the first time my friends and I visited the North Star and, WOW, are we happy we did. We went there for a Christmas celebration, and the dining room and bar were beautifully decorated and very cozy. The minute we walked through the door the staff made us feel at home and their attention, care and kindness continued the entire evening.
They made us feel so special.
And then there’s the food! We took advantage of their prime rib special and it was cooked to perfection. It was beautifully presented, family style for two, and it looked just like the way my mother would have done for special guests at the holidays. I was fabulous!
We are definitely going back very soon.
Charming, warm & delicious! The proprietors and staff of this wonderful establishment are top notch. The chef has taken care to present a well-rounded and satisfying menu. The room is cozy and inviting. The bar is welcoming and friendly, a nice place to hang out. Thank you all for putting in such hard work! It shows!
On our weekend visit we decided to have dinner at this cozy and delightful restaurant, the food was outstanding and the service was excellent, if you are ever in the area give this wonderful restaurant a try 💫
What a great addition to the local food scene! Reid and Jason and their whole team make you feel very welcomed and comfortable. The food is delicious and varied, with frequent specials adding more interests to the menu which changes seasonally. The bar is fun and cozy with cocktails mixed to perfection. Well worth a visit!

The attentive service and warm, stylish decor didn’t match the disappointingly mediocre food. Trout was well prepared but the green bean side was seasoned with raw garlic and overpowered. Ravioli was OK but a weird combo with wild mushrooms and way too much tomato sauce. Burger would have been great if not for the slightly soured aioli. Maybe it was just an off night since the other reviews seem great.
This is the best dinner I've had in 2024. I had the filet and half of an Autumn salad. Just so outstanding! Loved the cocktails. Went with a friend, but I must bring my family here

My husband and I had dinner at North Star on a Saturday evening while staying at The Alander. We started with The Waterslide cocktail, which was refreshing but overly sweet and weak, with a taste that didn’t seem to come from fresh ingredients, especially the watermelon. For our main course, we both ordered the Sweet Corn Agnolotti ($26), which turned out to be a major letdown. The menu described it as "stuffed pasta, blue crab, sweet peppers, corn veloute," but the pasta wasn't stuffed, the crab was nearly nonexistent (we found just a few tiny pieces, and even a couple of shells), and the dish was topped with raw red and green peppers and green onions. The sauce was thick, pasty, and unappealing, and the presentation was unappetizing. For dessert, we took a piece of flourless chocolate cake and two glasses of wine to go. The cake was just okay—nothing special. Overall, the food was disappointing, especially considering the price. We chose to dine here not only because we were staying at the property but also based on positive reviews. Perhaps it was just an off night?
