Popei's has been a favorite restaurant of mine for the last 17 years! This is most likely because I often crave clams on the half shell and snow crab legs. Yummy! The also have the BEST creamy garlic salad dressing.
It makes a nice day to sit at an outside table, enjoy a cocktail, and listen to some live music.
I'm sure it won't be long until I'm back!

After many years, we tried Popeye's again. This time, the food was very good. The waitress was courteous and friendly, and aside from the sticky table, the 60s soft "rock" (think the original version of California girls"), and the sharks hanging from the ceiling with Popeye stuffies in their jaws, we had a nice dinner. Then they brought the cheque.
Apparently, when you choose the $40 dinner combo, you need to put on your reading glasses and make sure you read the fine print, because it's a rotten trick. The dinner at this restaurant (which seems like the McDonald's of seafood) was $200+. When I informed the waitress that their must be a mistake (there were two of us, and we each choose the $40 combo) we were informed about the small print that apparently we missed.
We left feeling like we had been tricked and then mugged.
There are lots of seafood restaurants on Long Island. Next time we will go elsewhere.

Recently was there with 4 adults and 2 children I have never been so disappointed and outraged by the lack of quality and taste of the food. 4 different main course's 3 appetizers for 2 drinks for $380.00 It’s was so bad will never waste a dime trying this restaurant again. Refuse to throw away any more money. I don’t know what happened but friends of ours didn’t listen ate there last week and discovered the was as stated terrible and expensive. Used to be there 2 times a month or more, and now never again.

Good food, bad atmosphere. The food itself is pretty decent seafood, but for some reason the restaurant decided to play two different radio stations at the same time, which was annoying and distracting.

I can’t believe it took me so long to try this place. I moved to the area about 2 1/2 years ago and I always drive by today. I decided to stop by even though I wasn’t very hungry. I was immediately welcome by hostess and in one of the rooms they were having bingo the gentleman on the microphone told me to join every Tuesday. I thought he was really nice. I told him I wanted to sit outside. I had no idea the outside was so large, I got kids meal for my daughter and I asked them not to fry the shrimp and broiled it. It was seasoned very good. She loved the curly fries and the shrimp was fresh. I got lump crab appetizer and it was very fresh and delicious. I also got a piña colada. I definitely will be back when I am hungry to try more options. Another thing that I notice is the menu is extensive , very happy that there is a good restaurant like so close to my house. I can’t wait to bring my friends. My friend Dawn told me about this place She said it’s her favorite and now I think it’s going to be mine ha ha ha
