Behind the counter are very pleasant, bilingual folks who will explain any dishes and answer any questions you might have. There are no shoortcuts taken in the kitchen. This is down home, MaMa-made-it, delicious stuff. Not familiar with hispanic dishes? Doesn't matter!! Try the soups, try anything - it's all perfectly seasoned and very reasonably priced. “Even though our son is a professional chef and we think of ourselves as "foodies," we have only limited experience with Caribbean cuisine. That's going to change, because we will absolutely go back to Taino's to explore more of the menu. We went around 6-ish on a Monday night to celebrate my birthday, and the only other patrons were at the bar. They appeared to be regulars, and the vibe was warm and casual. Coconut shrimp is one of my guilty pleasures and I order it every time I see it on a menu. Tainos' was quite possibly the best I've ever had: enormous shrimp coated in batter and flaked coconut, fried to crispy perfection and served with a to-die-for coconut dipping sauce. I'm also a skirt steak junkie, so ordered the Churrasco al la Parrilla which is served with a large serving of rice, bowl of red beans and chimichurri sauce, all presented beautifully, complete with an orchid. I was so full from the shrimp, I took nearly all of my entree home. Our lovely waitress (also the bartender) packed up my leftovers so they were just as attractive and appetizing the next day. Everything, including the steak, reheated perfectly. Granted, at my age I have a small appetite, but I'll be finishing the second (!) half of my steak, rice and beans tonight (night #3). Our son ordered the chicken Canasta de Platano (plantain 'baskets') appetizer and grudgingly gave me only a tiny (delicious) taste. Husband ordered fried cheese, and ate a whole piece even before I could take a photo. Again, I was allowed only one bite, but know I'll order my own the next time we're there. He also ordered the skirt steak, but our son tried the Colombian platter (steak, avocado, pork cracklings, fried egg, rice and more), which he loved. He gave me the sweet corn cakes which I devoured. Can't wait to try "mofungo," which seems to be a signature dish. The oxtails look fabulous, too.”

“Best Spanish Food in the area. Fresh, delicious and good variety. Nice little selection of South American Fruits and Vegetables and bakery items also. And if your looking for the best sandwiches you'll find those there as well.. The owners is friendly and seems to really care about his customers and his business. The employees are great and always provide excellent service.. It's a must if your a local or passing through.”

“We first heard about this restaurant through a mutual friend. After checking it out for the first time we were absolutely sold! The food is so delicious and you receive very good portions. My wife loves the Oxtail and rice n peas and i enjoy their crunchy fried chicken. My son loves to get the curry goat grave with rice and pea and the staff gladly provides it for him. We love the staff there.Be sure to try out their breakfast menu too! It’s amazing! I don’t know who the chef is, but he’s a true chef and knows how to cook!And don’t pass up on the soups and natural juices, they taste great! It’s the only Jamaican restaurant outside of the city my family goes to for good food . Keep up the good work guys!”
