One of the worst experiences in a Latin restaurant in New York.
The super disrespectful and racist waitress. It is very sad that one looks for restaurants that remind one of their country, however, at Café Valdez, they treat you in a racist and differential way if you are black. The worst of all is that I asked to speak to the manager and he supposedly wasn't there.
We ordered the house salad because one of the people who was with me is vegan. When the salad arrived it had chicken. Very respectfully, we asked him if he could change our order since we did not want animal protein; to which the waitress responded that all the salads included meat and that the menu clearly said so. Therefore, I requested the menu again to see if it was our mistake. From what I see, the menu did not say if the salad included animal protein.
So I asked him if he could change the order to which he turned his back and left me talking to myself and mentioned we should order something else. To which I stop to look for the manager, there he comes to me to say that he can change it, when before he had emphatically and dismissively denied it.
The worst place, I don't recommend it!!!! And I hope one day the manager appears since the supposed person in charge did not know how to solve the situation.
I do not recommend this place!

We ordered baked chicken and it came out raw, it had blood inside. Not only bad taste but dangerous for health. We asked for the chicken to be exchanged and they made it take us 1 hour to give us the new chicken.

Very good music, excellent customer service but the food is priced high for the very small portion of food, for example Salmon a la Plancha is a grilled salmon piece that if you picked it up you would surely see the other side of the street, the tongue in serious sauce tongue swimming in sauce 3 portion the size of a baby's hand... you won't see me coming to eat there anymore... thank you very much excellent taste... but small portion for the prices...
Terrible service ! I went with my family and one of my family members ordered a burger and asked it to be done without any cheese , tomato and onions my sister is lactose intolerant we politely asked to get the burger changed because the burger came with cheese the server who says he name was Veronica was very rude and said it was out fault and that we had not ordered without cheese and didn’t want to change it. I’m not sure if her name is actually Veronica because the receipt had another name on it. This wasn’t the only she got wrong and didn’t want to change either of the plates.
