Food is actually elite. It's bar food so don't expect gourmet cuisine but measured up to other bar food this place is definitely heads and shoulders above other spots in the area. The setup is dope for watching a game. Just not as lively and gives the appearance of a dive spot (could use a little tlc inside) The patio out back is nice though. Giant screen with the game in, plenty of room for picnic tables and cornhole.1.

A cool local bar. our waiter/bartender was so sweet ? wish I could remember her name. We had mozzarella sticks, dirty tater tots, and teriyaki garlic wings. Portions were big ! Flavor on point. We had Jack and cokes that were perfect ! May not look like anything when you walk in, but don't judge a book by its cover! I almost did, and I'm glad I didn't. The tables had all New york sports teams. Sorry, I missed that because I would have picked the Knicks one, lol. Thank you for a great time and great bar food.

Always a good food and fun! The burgers are the best! And we always have to get the friend pickles to share. Those are a favorite - especially the dipping sauce!

After lamenting the dearth of dive bars in my native Mt. Pleasant. A town once replete with such establishments, a friend and I decided to give AJ's a try for the Monday Night Football festivities since some friends live in the area. Sampled several apps, including Potato Skins, Poppers, Mini Tacos, and the main event, Wings. Special pricing during NFL games made these good wings even better. The ladies behind the bar were warm and welcoming to us newcomers. After suffering so many $15 Bourbon and "Small Plates" places, AJ's is a welcome respite from the artificially upscale. We'll be returning for sure.

I've been to this bar twice and twice I've been disappointed. I had high hopes because so many people speak highly of this place, not sure what they experienced but this wasn't true for me. My first experience was for a quick beer, ordered a beer on tap, nothing fancy and immediately knew something was off about the taste of the beer but I drank it and left upon completion. My second chance I decided to grab a drink and some food, but let me tell you was I disappointed... I again ordered the same beer as previously giving the benefit of the doubt and yet again it was flat and sour. I'll give credit to the bartended and server who by the way was the only worker in-site for the whole bar, who noticed I hadn't had my beer and offered another suggesting he knew the beer wasn't popular and had complaints before. Upon obtaining my second beer I took a sip and to my disgust was an indescribable green/brown blob. I wish I could tell you what it was but to my dismay I'm not sure if it was a bug, mold, or snot. I was so disgusted my stomach churned and wanted to throw up. My immediate thought was to ask for water but at that point I trusted nothing that didn't come from a sealed bottle. I ordered boneless wings, something so simple how can you screw up, I mean cmon I was expecting them to come from a bag frozen, but geez what did I receive... battered chicken cutlets cut into thin pieces that were so tough it was like jerky. The menus were made on excel and printed covered by the staples store plastic paper protectors, and the specials were written in sharpie on a paper and photo copied. Listen I don't mind this from a place undergoing a revamp, or to put on newly added menu items, but for a place that has been around a long time it's just plain embarrassing to not have actual menus. This place may have been a great bar at one time but it's clear to me the owners have given up as it's in dire need of updating, repairs and a total cleaning.
