Ohhhhhhhhhh, how I just LOVE "hole in the wall places like this!! Give me the choice of a "fancy pants," ultra deluxe gourmet dinner or a "questionable" hidden gem that transports you halfway around the world before you even sit down at your table, I'll go for choice B every time!! I never would have known about this place, but my sister works right around the corner and passes it every day, so with some time off for "good behavior" (winter break!!) we decided to give it a try. Where I live in Ohioooooo, there's "Mexican" food just about everywhere, but it's rare (not impossible...) to find Central American food here, so this was a nice change of pace. We walked in late on a Friday afternoon (about 2pm) and immediately felt "a gusto/en casa" in the cozy dining room, with about 4-5 booths and tables two large parties occupying the center tables. Crowded, but not cramped. Their menu is full of tempting options, we decided to go for the sampler appetizer plate (plantains, beans, avocado, chicken, beef, chicharon, yuca, a fried egg......) and three different pupusas. We had enough food for an army!! It PAYS to have at least SOME Spanish (my ONE "superpower") but the menu is easy enough to decipher, and the waitresses are super helpful. Awesome service, TONS of delicious choices, reasonable prices, and a "free" afternoon "getaway" to a wonderfully hospitable, though too often misunderstood, region of the Americas, what more could you ask for?? A return visit, THAT's what I'm needing!! Buen provecho!!

I like the El Guanaco restaurant, it is a place where they make you feel good, the customer service is the best and I congratulate the employees for giving their best to the clients. God bless them.

The yuca frita is a great appetizer to share. Pupusas are very delicious, too.

Friendly atmosphere, kind staff, the food came out hot and fresh in good timing for a place that was packed out at the time, I enjoyed watching the super bowl and although crowded at the time it was a great experience.

The food is way over priced, the pupusas are 3$ each! I wouldnt care if they are expensive but they werent even that good. They were extremely salty. I been a loyal customer for over 10 years. I will be finding another place to order. It’s ridiculous honestly. Would suggest looking for another place to dine in.

This is the worst restaurant I have been visited , service horrible, owner was so rude saying if I didn't like the place don't come here and go somewhere else , then when I leave the tips the server came to the parking lot to gave me back the tips , I can't understand how you still have customers with that attitude, servers ok but the owners ?? You should be ashamed .
