Shalimar Delmar is a restaurant that offers a fine dining experience with its phenomenal Palastani cuisine. Although the restaurant is located in a strip mall, the chef's exceptional cooking skills make up for the lack of fancy ambiance. The dining room could use some tinting on the windows to block harsh sunlight, but the décor is still fine in the evening.
The restaurant's buffet features perfectly seasoned dishes, a pleasant surprise for those who usually find buffets to be mediocre. The crown jewel of the menu is the mouthwatering "Dala Makani," a dish that encapsulates the essence of Palastani cuisine. This dish features tender, succulent pieces of chicken or paneer, marinated in a blend of secret spices and simmered in a creamy tomato sauce infused with aromatic herbs and spices. The Dala Makani is traditionally served with fragrant basmati rice and warm, fluffy naan bread, creating a harmonious fusion of flavors and textures.
Customers have consistently praised the outstanding service provided by the staff, who ensure that every order is accurate and the customer experience is enjoyable. The restaurant also offers a delicious buffet for lunch with plenty of vegetarian and chicken dishes, although the lighting could be a bit brighter. Additionally, the restaurant's take-out orders are excellent, with large portions and prompt, courteous service.
