The testy is permanently closed. I was mortified, since I was hosting a birthday brunch. Not only did open table take me reservation, confirm my reservation, you are still taking reservations. I realize the restaurant did not contact you. What obligation does open table have to ensure the reservations you are taking are valid?
I liked the vibe of the restaurant, but what I was totally surprised is how bad is the customer service. My sisters and I went to this restaurant and upon arrival we were asked if we were ready. We asked for more time, right after that one of my sisters asked for a orange juice. Then we saw that a group of 8 people came in. They were quickly assisted and asked what they were drinking. When the waiter did their order then he remembered my sister’s juice. The glass was full all the way, that when tried to drink it it spilled on her hands and on the table. It was very embarrassing. Also she ordered scrambled eggs and it was never brought to the table, the waiter asked her if he brought it when we were asking to pay the bill. Although the orange juice nor the eggs were put on the bill, it was a very disappointing meal and uncomfortable atmosphere that we had to deal with.
The blueberry pancakes are amazing. Old fashioned style can’t find anymore
Went to The Bit for brunch and it was so good! We had the Vegan Blueberry Pancake (couldn't taste the difference), Chicken and Waffle (chicken was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside) and Fish and Chips (tastes like I was back in London). Our server, Michael was great! He was so helpful, friendly, accommodating and funny. Would go back for sure!
Excellent attentive service, delicious fresh creative food, awesome cozy ambiance…what more can I say? We drove up from Riverdale and had a great evening. Easy street parking. Highly recommend this restaurant! We had the Buffalo cauliflower, bean soup, roasted eggplant entree, Mac and cheese, grilled chicken, rib eye steak, a Dobbs Berry cocktail, lemonade, a Shirley Temple, and a warm brownie with ice cream to end the night. Great restaurant with a warm vibe!
Had a great dinner at the Big this past Friday 4/29. Grilled octopus was delicious and the Fried Chicken was excellent! Waiter was a little iffy ( forgot to mention specials then forgot one of our items) but otherwise had a good time.
I had been to the previous incarnation "The Rare Bit" in 2019 and was happy to the location has held on during the pandemic, with an updated name, "The Bit" and menu. The food is delicious, service friendly, decor appealing, and all in all a good spot to dine. This is one of those bisto-style places whith good basics (burgers, fish & chips, etc.) plus inventive dishes and specials (lamb & pesto pasta with sunflower seeds.) The portions are generous and clientele a mix of local folks.
Our son said that we should try out The Bit for dinner, so we did. Good thing! The Roasted Leg of Lamb was first class as was the Shrimp Pappardelle. Definitely worth a repeat.
Easter brunch with the hubby, kids and MIL. Hubby and MIL are from England so the food was perfect (and delicious!). I was disappointed they didn't have the tikka on the menu, but the cauliflower, drumsticks, burger, falafel, and scotch eggs were absolutely delicious. Great service as well!
Great food, great location and great service. Prices are reasonable. Portions are huge, bring your appetite. Will be going back again.

This was our first and last time there. The food was less than average and very expensive considering a prixe fixed price for dinner and a poor, cheap selection of food. Extremely noisy and they don't even serve bread and butter.
Run! Don't walk. One of the best experiences I've had in a long time. Not super crowded and the staff are all attentive and take pride in the experience. Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed. I want to come back for something other than brunch.
My wife and I had dinner at The Bit last night. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and the draft cocktails were tasty. We live a few towns over but found this place in Westchester magazine. Definitely worth the 20 drive. Best meal we’ve had in a long time…
A little expensive for American fare. Fish and chips were great super crisp but I'd never heard of that dish costing 30 dollars. Waitress was friendly, dessert was delicious. Will be revisting but again, expensive for the offerings.
We were disappointed in our first and last visit to The Bit. I started with the romaine salad which consisted of tired romaine, store bought croutons, a couple of olives and two slices of pepper - all for $14. I expected much more. My beef ragu entre was tasty and a decent portion. My wife had the fried chicken entre. The baked beans side was so salty it was inedible. This was restaurant week so it was prixe fixed at $39.99. However, the fried chicken had a $8 premium attached. So, 3 pieces of fried chicken for $48? Are you kidding me? I expected for restaurant week to be enticed to taste their best at a great value. Nope - not at the Rare Bit.
