Pesto Pizza Genovese
Our Pesto –traditionally known as "pesto alla Genovese"-is one of the most popular sauces originating in the Italian region of ligurian. The original pesto is a thick, cold sauce made from crushed garlic, hard cheese (such as parmesan cheese), and basil leaves; enriched with European pine nuts, coarse salt, and extra virgin olive oil. White Pizza (Pizza Bianca) with garlic
If you're not familiar with a Grimaldi White pizza, it's a pizza made without tomato or marinara sauce, and topped with white cheeses, olive oil and minced garlic. I somehow didn't get any photos from this visit even though I shot video. Came to this Grimaldi's location before going to a Mets game with some friends. I had been to the original in the past as well as a location in El Paso, Texas so I knew a general idea of what to expect. Two small pies and a salad for over 60 dollars. Crust is good, sauce is good, but god darn is it overpriced, the salad is literally lettuce and a few croutons, it was supposed to have cheese too, and I guess it did, if you actively look, you can find some shreds on it. The sausage pizza had 11 pieces of sausage in total. We counted. 1 to two quarter sized slices of sausage per slice. That was like 5 bucks extra, so almost 50 cents per slice of sausage.
