Rolls were great each one came with a small miso soup which was a life saver since when I went it was cold out and the kids needed something to keep them warm.

I heard this place gets completely packed during peak hours, so I made sure to come a little early. It paid off—I got seated right away. Even though the staff were clearly busy, they were incredibly friendly and attentive. They took the time to explain the menu and checked in throughout the meal, which left a great impression.

The barbecue had a rich yet balanced smoky flavor, and the texture of the meat was excellent. The brisket was moist and tender, practically melting in my mouth, and the marinated short ribs were perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious. All the side dishes tasted carefully prepared, so you really can’t go wrong with anything.

The banchan were especially interesting—some were things I had never seen before, yet the flavors were surprisingly familiar for a Korean person like me. The kimchi tasted even more traditionally Korean than what I’m used to back home. Among all the sides, the yellow pumpkin salad stood out as my favorite.

For dessert, the sikhye was the highlight. It was clean, refreshing, and just sweet enough. Honestly, if they sold it separately, I would've taken a few bottles home.

There’s usually a wait during busy hours, but if you come a little early, you can enjoy everything comfortably. Overall, the food, the friendliness, and the atmosphere were all excellent. I’ll definitely be coming back.

As an old Korean dude that has been to countless Korean BBQ places, I can confidently recommend Sungbookdong. The service was fast and friendly, the restaurant was clean and spacious, parking was convenient and the food was perfect. I had dinner with six large guys, and we had our fill and then some. The total bill including beers, soju and tip was $100 per head. Very fair and overall a great experience.

If you're planning a group visit, please reconsider. They seemed uninterested, forced us to order, and, above all, unfriendly. This was extremely unpleasant.

We ordered several kind of meat but so chewy like a rubber.
It is completely gabage. So expensive as well.
All you can eat Meat quality is much better than sunbukdong.
I do not recommend this place.
You guys check detail of receipt after eating. They added some item you never order.
Be careful !!!!

This place is trash.
Nothing that i hate more than bad food.
Rice and side dishes all tasted spoiled. The beef (glabi) was mid but everything else was horrendous. Didn't get steamed eggs, and staff blamed that it was late.

The food was so delicious. More variety of side dishes and friendly staff provided extra accommodations. I will come back to this place!!

If Korean BBQ is on your mind and you're anywhere near Queens, Sung Book Dong should be top of mind.

Our family ordered servings of both the marinated and plain short ribs and I was shocked by how tender and flavorful these meats were. The server comes by to cook, flip, and cut the meats on a tabletop grill so that all you need to do is to have your chopsticks and appetite ready. Best of all, they use a gas grill AND a low-hanging vent over the tabletop grill. I know there are folks out there who'll argue the merits of cooking over charcoal briquets (which some other restaurants do), but there's nothing worse than having dinner and then smelling it on your clothes for days to come.

Ordering any of the BBQ meats not only means you get to watch the best meat-based tabletop cooking show; it also means the rest of your table space will be littered with all kinds of banchan, or free side dishes. You'll see all the standards like a dressed salad, kimchi, and sesame-seasoned spinach, but there's all kinds of other special ones here - kabocha squash salad, a savory Korean egg soufflé, and raw marinated crab.

We also tried the seafood pancake, which was outstanding. Crispy, full of seafood, and sizable enough to share as a party of four, this was a lovely accompaniment to all the meat.

If there are downsides, it's with the little things. While the interior of the restaurant is pretty large, the tables are fit in close together so get ready to eavesdrop on lots of conversations at neighboring tables (and vice versa). This restaurant is a hotspot for Korean BBQ and it shares space with a few other businesses in the complex, so what little parking is available in the lot goes fast. We're often better off finding street parking along neighboring streets.

Love to come here from time to time with family. I like the complimentary sikhye(sweet rice punch) at the end of the meal. We always get a BBQ Combo, Pajeon(seafood pancake) appetizer and the Manduguk (rice cake, dumpling beef broth) soup.
Parking can be hard to find in the evening, it gets pretty busy.

Located on Northern Blvd at the Eastern border of Bayside, Queens just before Little Neck; small shared parking lot in front and lower level small garage; offering Kbbq but come here for the soy sauce marinated raw crab and stews; good assortment of included quality side dishes; clean & well ventilated interior; casual vibe but can get quite busy; expect a wait during peak rush; call for reservations or takeout. Support your local small businesses & restaurants.

We found it to be very expensive, and the staff didn’t clearly explain how the restaurant works. The service wasn’t great either, and overall, it wasn’t a memorable experience. Honestly, we wouldn’t go back.
