We stopped with the intent of grabbing some breakfast. The parking lot was overflowing and they were very busy. It looked as if it would be quite a wait, as just about every table was full. We waited at the counter for the four people ahead of us to order and decided to just get coffees to go. $6 for two large coffees (plain old fashioned regular coffee). The coffee was located in air thermos containers which the first one was empty and a worker brought forward another full one....
Here's from some vegetarian, and one gluten-free vegetarian, and a kid, and a dedicated coffee snob: delicious, top to bottom! Iced Americano and hot chocolate, were excellent, omelettes, eggs, toast and home fries- fantastic! And, my hubby who loves sweets and is unfortunately gluten free, found the best peanut butter cookie and some little miracle called a "chocolate puddle"! All approve, and the gift shop upstairs has great, unique items- no lie!!
We were traveling across the park for the first time and since it was off-season, most restaurants were closed. By the time we got to the Bay Cafe we were thrilled to find them open. We were lucky to be early for the lunch rush because they are a small family operation and seem to have difficulty keeping up when there are a lot of customers. We ordered simple soup and sandwiches and had to wait a long time for them even though we had beat the rush. The food when we got it was...
