we came for father's day never heard of the place drove 40 mins. the menu was limited (wasn't mentioned on their post for their 2 specials) the special was misleading. we sat for over 30 mins before I walked in to the bar to get our table drinks, waited another 15 for the waitress to acknowledge us. after watching another table getting upset ( they walked in at the same time we did) and yes we had reservations i realized we had been waiting 2 hours with no one coming out to check on us or explain why it's taking so long. 10 mins for someone to come up to me and ask what the problem was. all i said was are we going to be able to eat he then disappeared and came back and said 7 mins. no apologies no explanation no nothing. we get our food and its cold/hard and not worth the wait. they did how ever take some off the bill but this was absolutely the worst experience and the reasoning behind it all was they lost a couple of the checks yet the sign up front said food sold out. after 15 mins after being told 7 mins they told us all of our substitutions for the things they are out of lol left waiting AGAIN

We just had my daughter's baby shower at Kodiak Jacks and it was so wonderful...the food was so good ( everyone raved about how delicious it was) the atmosphere is so welcoming and the staff is so friendly!!

We had the Derby Day Special - Hot Brown Open Face Sandwich. Didn’t know at the time it had a culinary history. It was delicious with thick tasty slices of turkey, not deli. Fresh sliced tomatoes, and a rich cheddar cheese sauce with crispy bacon on top popped under the broiler for a unifying effect landing onto our placemat for a photo finish - delectable. Inspired cooking!

I am still giving this restaurant a four star review despite our experience today. We have been there many times and will go back again someday. However, this was the experience tonight: 1. We were there at 4:30. The Saturday night special is prime rib. They did not have enough for everyone at the table to order. The server said the next one would be ready at 6pm. That certainly seems like poor planning. 2. There were only four tables seated at the the time with two servers. It should not have been overwhelming. After waiting forever for our server to take our order, she literally left mid- order to seat more people. She did not come back to complete taking the table's order for another 10 minutes. But- managed to take the drink order of the table she left us mid order to seat. 3. The prime ribs we were able to order were medium well, medium rare (2), and rare. The medium well was under done, the medium rare were fine, and the rare was overdone. The person that ordered the medium well very politely asked to have it heated a bit more. The server actually rolled her eyes at the customer. Roll your eyes in the kitchen. 4. Our food was cold. Not even warm, but we ate it because we were hungry.
I know this is an isolated incident because my husband and I have been there many times and had an excellent experience.
