Underwhelming for the price. Little choice due to airline mismanagement causing upset in travel plans. No perks at this hotel ($400+ for 1 night) Parking, breakfast, bottled water all extra $. Parking garage gate dysfunctional.

Save yourself the aggravation. We had a horrible experience from day one at this hotel. Starting with the check-in process. The front desk employee who checked us in gave us the wrong room number. We were not able to get in the room as the key was not working. I went back down to the front desk to confirm the room number because it sounded like someone was already in the room. She assured me twice that I had the right room number and advised me to be careful with my key card around my phone and credit cards as it was sensitive. I went back up and entered the room with a new key card that she issued. To my surprise there was a guest in the room. I apologized and went back down to speak with the front desk. I asked to speak with a manager and had the unfortunate chance to speak with Matthew who was the manager. He was of no help and proceeded to tell me to lower my voice three times instead of offering an apology or any kind of reassurance that this was not something that normally happens. Instead, he said the guest that was in the room was in the National Guard and most likely did not mind me walking into her room. I would have preferred him taking some accountability and offering some type of reassurance that he would ensure the guest I just walked in on was okay and that my room would not be walked into by another guest. If roles were reversed I’m sure he would have had a different opinion. I did have the pleasure of speaking with the day shift manager Vanessa who was very pleasant and assisted me. The first room we were issued was dated. The toilet was leaking and the TV was not functional. The second room was a little better but we were so annoyed with our first day that nothing could have made it better. Many of the amenities were out of order and several other guests were complaining any time I passed the lobby during my stay. Do not stay here if you have other options.

The "great:" - The hotel restaurant is excellent. Over two meals, we had 6 different entrees and all were great. Full bar and good beer selection. There are no other options within walking distance to the close hotel airports so the restaurant is a good reason to select this hotel. - Very close (across the street) from LaGuardia Airport. - Shuttle to the airport every 20 min. - Early check in compared to other hotels - 3:00 pm. We were able to get in our room at 1:30 pm. - The service. Front desk, waiters, shuttle driver, etc. - Rooms were large and comfortable. The "OK:" - The pool and tub are good but could use some refreshening ... broken drain in hot tub, maybe some new furniture, and some repainting would go a long way. Needs improvement: - The hotel caters to folks who have early flights, flight cancellations, and airline staff ... it would be great if they had coffee available in the lobby and maybe a grab and go option for breakfast for early morning travelers. - The showers are in dire need of updating. The water pressure is great but the water does not drain well so water pools and gives the appearance of being dirty. Bottom line: A solid choice for the late day flight cancellation. I would stay there again.

The front desk check in was an extremely unhelpful experience. The woman barely looked at us and would not answer our most important questions. When I called the hotel guest services to get the shuttle to pick us up from our car rental company, guest services would not tell me where to wait to be picked up —it was a large parking lot with no designated place for pick up. In the room, It was hard to find charger plugins for two people and I eventually had to unplug a lamp and refrigerator to charge my phone and watch. Cost was high for so little attention to current needs and important details

So we stayed next door (the other hotel) during a conference. Our hotel didn't have a bar. Thank God this was next door, what a great bar. Plenty of TVs to watch sports, great beer. There version of an old fashion could use some work. But, it was nice break after a day in class.

Nice hotel but our (upgraded) room was quite dated. You need to request any type of housekeeping service, which may or may not happen. Found a tooth in the room from a previous guest - makes you wonder. Breakfast is way overpriced with very slow service.

Maybe it’s because the name “Plaza” carries a certain connotation, but if you are expecting a “Plaza” hotel experience…this is NOT it. It looks like the entire budget of this hotel was put into making the lobby look as nice as possible (and it is a very nice looking lobby), and that’s about it. When we first arrived we were told that a king suite (which is what we had reserved) was not available, but they would put us in a two full beds room, and we can check back later in the afternoon to see if a king suite becomes available. After a long flight, my husband and I didn’t care, but it was a bit of an inconvenience to pack up all our stuff and move into a new room in the same day. The rooms are…gross? Like old. Like a puke green and red color carpet with stained base boards and outlets that were definitely not secure…which I think is a fire hazard but what do I know. They have an extensive room service menu…but maybe it’s because they’re desperate for more money…maybe it’s because it’s NYC…but boy howdy was everything expensive. They also charge a MANDATORY 20% tip and $7 service fee to everything you order…so your $20 eggs and benny just became $31. The bathrooms are…bad. Never mind the low water pressure (which is to be expected in a hotel) but good luck getting even warm water. I finally found the ‘sweet spot’ on the shower dial- only for it to sporadically get cold for 10 seconds before returning to warm water. If you have an upset stomach, or just need to go to the bathroom…good luck. A child’s turd could clog the toilet- and the toilet paper they provide? Oh, you better believe it’s single ply. The TVs in the room are, in a word, a headache. Our TV’s volume was set to 100 (not an exaggeration) every single time it turned on. It didn’t matter if you had turned it down to 10 before you turned it off, when you turned it back on…back to 100. And don’t even think about using the ‘guide’ on the TV, I made the mistake of trying to see what was on ‘TV’ with the guide feature….and there was no way to turn off the guide. The remote essentially stopped working (to be fair, it seemed like it was from 2005) and we had to unplug the cable box to correct the problem. There are no microwaves in the room and our mini fridge looked like it was honestly from 1989…if mini fridges were even a thing back then. It was about 18 inches x 18 inches and just on the ground in the corner. Overall…I’ve had nicer stays at a Holiday Inn. I will not be staying here again.

Horrendous bathrooms for such an expensive hotel a simple p*** was enough to clog it and service would not even give us a plunger to fix it. This was by far the worse bathroom experience in my life, bathrooms in Alabama were better then this for gods sake

One of the hand towel was used then hung back up, and the wash clothe was left used by the sink. In addition, the only bar of soap was used, and top it off there was a roach crawling on the bathroom wall and on the dresser in the room. I brought it to the attention of the front desk and the guy just looked at me as if to "what do you expect me to do". We were there for one night to attend a friend funeral the Saturday and leaving on Sunday. We stayed there because we got in late and was too tired to look and elsewhere. My worry was that I would bring roaches to my home, when I don't have any.

Julissa ( I think that’s her name) was very rude so unprofessional. I didn’t like her tone at all. The other lady was a little older was very polite and more helpful and she was even on the phone helping another customer.

I stayed at this hotel for one night as it was close to airport. The staff was friendly but the hotel's rooms were gross. Wallpaper peeling off in the bathroom, tub was old and disgusting that I skipped taking a shower. The bathroom tile was cracked in many places. Carpet was so dirty I never took off me socks.

A great looking entrance and lobby, as you get further from check in and closer to your room you start to notice the age of this NY hotel. Right by the airport makes it a perfect layover hotel when your next flight is only hours away. The front desk attendant seemed half asleep when we checked in at 8pm but managed to check us in. I got hooked up with a suite at the very end of a long hallway on the 5th floor. The room was clean but a little dated. I felt like I was waiting for a subway train in the bathroom waiting for the shower to produce some warm water but when it came I was able to get the La garbage stink of LaGuardia airport. I utilized the hotel gym which required a wrist band from the front desk for reasons unknown. Maybe a lot of very fit homeless people try to utilize their amenities? With a name like “the Plaza at Laguardia” one expects a little higher brow work out facilities. But as I was the only one in there, I guess the plaza guests aren’t much for fitness so the hotel has let the gym turn into Penn Station. (See photos) There was an attendant at the entry of the “health club” checking wristbands between scrolling through social media on his phone, ensuring the exclusivity of the health club. After a solid workout and a delicious uber eats delivery I filled out the little breakfast menu card you hang on your door and promptly hung it before 10pm as directed for my wake up breakfast. Unfortunately in the morning my menu was still hanging on the door like the one kid not picked for the sport team. I called the front desk and they promptly took my order and the food was delivered and delicious. The internet was good enough to stream Chris Rock’s selective outrage on netflix, and the climate control was on point. Overall a 3 out of 5 on the fussy pilot scale. If you are going to throw ritzy words like plaza in your title you better bring your “A” game. Dated interior and gym dropped the score. This review was written by an airline pilot who has frequented more hotels than a NY pimp, so take it with a grain of salt or jet fuel.

Nothing but the best. I booked this last minute on line when our flight was cancelled impacted by the snow storm in Toronto. Steven at the front desk made us feel very welcomed. He gave us a nice appointed suite and allowed us to stay a bit longer past check out time when we requested it. Impeccable customer service, Steven! This hotel is very convenient, just across La Guardia airport, with a complimentary shuttle service every 10 minutes. Lobby was nice with a grand piano. There was a lounge and dining area. In our suite was a separate living room, a coffee maker and espresso machine were also available. King size bed was super comfy. Highly recommended in all aspects, the kind of hotel service a customer deserves. Will definitely return! Thank you for an amazing stay, I felt so at home!

The attendant at the desk was very rude and unprofessional and wasn't prepared to be helpful. The security on site was very condescending and also very unprepared to help a customer in need. This was February 12th around 9PM. If anyone from the hotel reads these reviews please have these people replaced.

Aneesa Watson was very most professional and efficient in our interactions. She is proficient in her job duties and the local area. Her suggestions on activities to purse was spot on and she was an amazing help
